It isn't about what the court will or won't do to him it's what happens if the court find he lied about the payment , if the paper chase leads back to Trump it could be the beginning of the end for the Trump presidency ... he's playing a high stakes game.

what rock are you hiding down under?

what part of you can not sue a sitting president for events previous to his term in office or the election do you not understand?

It is against our laws

It's got nothing to do with what he did, it's just because Trump...

Jeez, Theresa May's father was in cahoots with a serial killer yet I don't see Gortex (A UK member) ranting about her dodgy affiliations.

TDS...

Just look at the excuses.

"Name me one person who is a perfect individual," false equivalency, much?

This is really the level of an average Trump supporter, couldn't care less about santicty of marriage and being faithful because "lefties," something something Antifa liberal hypocrites lol.

Y'all are too funny

no...you can't deflect blame here...Trump was and is your man...you gotta take a bow for the circus that is the executive branch today

I am not deflecting ANYTHING.
He is exactly what he was elected to be.
You just appear to be hanging traditional expectations on him.
Good luck with that.
The expectations for him were very very low and in no way traditional.

Agreed 100% with you

And he is exactly as I expected he would be.

Funny though, soo many of his supporters were telling me I was wrong in my initial assessment.

How many court case defenses were won or lost with

"Well BBC and twitter said this"

None

Get some real sources, then we will talk.

The media is garbage, did all you guys forget what they did in the elections already?

I can't remember the number, but wasn't it like 14 attempts?

Is this lucky number 15 that might stick?

He probably said f it I'm going to sue her into oblivion.

I would.

If he is actually suing her, it's probably a libel lawsuit and the retarded media is twisting it to a bs nds. Which they are now claiming was a spoken agreement.

Really,Trump had a spoken nds agreement?

Let's try and think that one over a bit before we go all fee fee.

Actually, the hush money was during the campaign and it may be that he used campaign contributions for that, which is clear violation of law...so there could be a lot of issues coming from this.

He funded his own campaign for a long while. Do you have any evidence whatsoever that he used donated campaign funds to pay for it?

I mean seriously, do you really think he would be that stupid? The guy had billions of his own dollars to pay for it.

Nevermind, I forgot that you think he's the big dumb Tangoman... Logic falls on deaf ears here.

why do you people care who trump sleeps with?

get help plz

I don't particularly care (although it's nice to know who he associates with just in general to try and get a grasp on who he is).

But in my opinion, this is a battle he shouldn't fight. He should just admit it and say "So what?". That's the Trump who got elected. If he did something unpopular and someone brought it up, he'd just shrug and say "Who cares?"

He's being forced into a mentality that he has to prove he's right. If he takes that mentality in other areas, he's going to lose. So far he has been working on the fact that the president basically does what he wants and doesn't have to prove he's right about anything. He's not the brightest bulb and he's going to lose these arguments if he concedes that if someone can prove him wrong he'll change his mind.

Now of course, this is more like what the presidency is supposed to be. The president isn't supposed to be a dictator. But....recent administrations have basically built the presidency up to the point to where the president is essentially a temporary dictator. On precedent, the president does not have to prove he's right about anything. He doesn't have to debate. He doesn't have to have a discussion. He can just use his pen and let the voters decide.

Trump likes to argue. He wants to be right even though he's often wrong. This is not going to go well for him if he fights this.

He signed a hush agreement, so he is legally bound to lie about the payment. She's the one who violated the agreement.

Legally bound to lie?? Maybe legally bound to not comment on it, but I don’t believe there is any such thing as legally bound to lie about something.

It depends on the terms of the agreement and a close parsing of whatever language he's used to 'deny.' I haven't seen the whole contract, but I did read that it was mutual and I think it's safe to assume that the terms would absolutely require him to deny knowing anything if asked about it.

I noticed that his lawyer built in a lot of leeway for him with the terms (that I have read, so far). For example, there's a counterpart clause that says essentially that Trump can have his own signed copy and Stormy is not entitled to be delivered with that copy, BUT together, her signed contract AND his make ONE original.

It also says that he can sign his copy whenever he wants and it's retroactively effective from the original date in the contract.

(IOW, she has NO reason to believe that the contract is not valid or legally binding. She's going to lose if that is her only defense.)

***

ETA: And I was really using the previous poster's word 'lie' as loosely interchangeable with 'deny the truth.' I should have been more clear about that.

She will be alright. Although Trump will not lose a single vote for sleeping with a pornstar. He may actually gain more votes for being such a stud.

i haven't read the whole thread. i apologize if this has been mentioned already.

i'm afraid we will read in the news: Porn Star over doses in hotel room.

or : porn star commits suicide under the pressure of the lawsuit

or : porn star dies in tragic auto accident.

honestly it isn't outside of reality considering the insanity that is our current administration. i'm curious how many others feel the same as i do. should we be worried for stephanie clifford? granted, she seems street smart and can take care of herself. but i still wonder what if.....

This is the state we are in. Ninety-five percent of voters cast votes for Democrats and Republicans. Democrats and Republicans cheat on their spouses, lie about it, and pay people to keep quiet (or worse)...

...even when they are POTUS.

One side inevitably looks the other way.

Sucks for the 5%, but the 95% set the bar and they set it very low. Apparently, 'strong character' is no longer a leadership quality, by default.

Also, this lady's lawyer must definitely have some big-time backers behind him and this woman
