Is there not some verse in the bible about "wheels within wheels"? I'm sure i read that somewhere.I'm pretty sure that thing from the OT was a megalomaniacal alien overlord,easy to appear as a "god" to primitive tribes when you have access to advanced metatechnology.Not sure how Jesus ties in.But i do recall something about "wheels within wheels" in the sky.And i think it was Elijah that was taken up to "heaven" whilst still alive?

My UFO encounter was a Cloud type.

"My son and I saw A very strange sight in the sky on 15/9/09, at 9.55pm,Tuesday night. The sky was cloudy, so we didn't see what was behind the clouds, but individual clouds were flashing on and off.

I was in my front room and my ears had that decompression feeling, and for some reason I got up and went through to the kitchen window, opened it and looked out. Almost immediately I saw big clouds light up and flash on and off. At first looked to me like Aurora Borealis, but then with the sequencing and spinning round effect it REALLY began to look like something from close encounters (the film), all that was missing was the horn scale musical stuff and the lack of colours.

I had called my teenage son from his room, he was playing his music and emailing friends. I was surprised he heard me calling him and came through. He must have heard the shocked tone in my voice. He is convinced there was a UFO above those clouds.

I have been looking at sprites and other solar system and atmospheric phenomenon as a possible cause for what we witnessed. And when I came across the nasa thing I did think that it may be a possibility, however I'm in Scotland. The launch at nasa was hours after we witnessed those clouds lighting up."

Thank you for the interesting story. I have not seen anything like this, but now, every time I see a fast moving small (or large one for that matter) cloud, I am going to pay special attention to see it makes any odd movements.

Now this I what I was looking for. Not only is the story geographically close, but involves the moving cloud-cloaked UFO and a military presence. I know that the area where my grandfather's sighting occurred isn't very far at all from Shaw Air Force Base. Maybe I should research sighings in the Carolinas.

Many other cases have similar attributes, especially how it focused in on your group in the boat after you all noticed it and brought attention to it among yourselves. This is a feature common to a lot of cases. Just assume it is someone(s) from elsewhere visiting here, so by this thing's behavior, lends to the idea that it has advanced surveillance capabilities, but also something else is possible. I think this too.

Like how a photon can be wave and particle depending on whether it is observed or not. Perhaps there are beings that can detect changes in the light particles around them as soon as they're seen? Perhaps our vision creates an invisible line of changes in the light between our eyes and an object we look at, and ETs can see this vision-line, and thus determine who's doing the looking, what they're looking at, and where they're looking from?

Interesting thoughts.

Regarding the biblical angle. I know that Ezekiel witnessed God's "throne" coming to earth and described wheels within wheels covered with "eyes" and strange hovering beings. Elijah was taken to heaven in "chariots of fire", Enoch "walked with God and was no longer found on the earth", and in the New Testament Phillip baptized the eunuch then disappeared and basically gets beamed back down into a city. Its also interesting that Jesus "ascends" into heaven. Take the following with a grain of salt because A. I'm theorizing B.I'm not claiming this is what I believe. C. These events were recorded thousands of years ago many of them beginning as oral traditions passed down. That said, I love bible study and have thought about these things.
If angels are "extraterrestrial" beings it would seem that they aren't from another planet or star system but are from a different dimension. The Bible speaks of a spiritual domain that it sometimes refers to as "heavenly places". The chariots of fire and wheels within wheels could very well be ancient man's attempt to describe extra dimensional technology. Genesis briefly discusses how these beings mated with humans and produced powerful offspring called the nephilum who were giants. The book of Enoch (Noah's grandfather) is not canon to scripture but was included in the Apocrypha. In that book Enoch says that the mingling of angels and men was the sin that led God to flood the earth. Interesting enough, the Genesis account immediately follows the mention of "nephilum" with God telling Noah to build the ark because He is going to flood the earth. It must have happened again after the flood though because the Nephilum appear again when Moses sends spies into the promised land. The men describe them as giants and how they looked like grasshoppers in comparison. Later when Joshua takes over after Moses dies, he has Caleb hunt down and kill the "Anakim" or "sons of Anak". Anak was a giant mentioned in scripture who had to have a special bed built to accommodate his enormous height. Caleb hunts down many of them but a few flee (according to scripture) into Gath. Gath is later the home of Goliath and his brothers (who were each as large as he was). It can be theorized that God saw the genetic mixing of angels and man as evil and wanted to irradicate the offspring. Possibly to protect human DNA.
I also think it is interesting that the book of Enoch talks about God's anger at the "fallen angels" for sharing knowledge with man that they weren't yet meant to have. The greeks thousands of years later tell about prometheus cast from the holy mountain of Olympus for giving the secret of fire to man. Greek myth also spoke of powerful demigods born when gods slept with human women.
I hadn't connected the cloud to the Bible but the verses shared in the replies here are intriguing.

I am a christian, I believe the Bible, and I don't necessarily think these "guesses" are likely anywhere near correct, but it is very fun to discuss.

I've heard of foo fighters hiding in cloud cover --- One was with my own nighttime, twice seen, foo fighter sighting in 1976, approximately 40 miles west of Washington D.C. . I spotted the lit bluish-white foo fighter above the low thin cloud cover, at the eastern horizon; travelling east to west at hypersonic speed. I looked immediately to the western horizon, where I failed to see the UAP. I figured the foo fighter stopped somewhere above the cloud cover above us.

One minute later...a huge reddish-orange ball of fire emerged from the low thin cloud cover --- about one mile away from us --- descending in a slow (30mph) straight perpendicular descent to Earth, lighting the whole Eastern sky and mountain valley in front of us --- Then it disappeared behind a mountain ridge in front of us.

The day was mostly clear and the sky was blue. This cloud was one of very few in the sky and instead of being still or gently drifting it was darting around erratically and quickly. They stopped the boat and started pointing at the cloud when it suddenly began to descend and come straight toward them. It stopped and was still pretty far away from them. The cloud started to shrink and was apparently being sucked inside of a disk shaped metal object that had been hidden behind or inside it. They said it looked about the size of a school bus, its appearance was like smooth polished metal with what looked like a few square shaped windows. They only saw it for a moment before it created the cloud round itself again and went back up into the air. It sucked up and recreated the cloud several times, then without the cloud it flew down to just over the tree line on the opposite side of the river from them then shot away quickly into the sky and was gone in seconds. The boys were scared, my grandfather always swore he wasn't scared and was just really curious. They had already been fishing for awhile and had caught plenty so they decided to head back home.
Apparently about five to ten minutes after the UFO zipped away, they saw several jets in formation shoot past in the direction it had gone. Now, I've read a lot of sighting stories, but I haven't heard anything quite like the cloud camouflage. I would love to know what thoughts everyone has on the event and if you have heard anything similar.

I have not had any personal experience with a story like this, but I seem to remember in 2013/2014 that I stumbled across a story from China where this was happening. There were photos, and to me, the shape was exactly perfect for a disc.

I know people tend to say you can see what you want in clouds, but the features were pristine. If I can find them I will edit my post. Good read though.

I've seen one transform into small airplane and flew almost directly over myself and some friends.
To make things even stranger, it appeared to have Christmas lights hanging all over it.

There is a lot of mentions of "clipping" in UFO stories - coming out of or going into the sea without a splash, or disappearing into mouintans.
