Erodgan...... He is not an ally of the West. Do you think he is? I'd be very curious who was supporting the Coup against him, nation-state wise. I'm not buying it was just that preacher in PA. You need support and assets to try that.

Is Jerusalem sacred to Jews? What's your point

Turkey is a Muslim country and Jerusalem is sacred to Muslims , America is legitimising Israels claim to Jerusalem by signaling the moving of their embassy.
My point was in answer to why is Turkey upset by the move.
The UN is the root cause of the issues surrounding Jerusalem and subsequent issues with Palestine (and Jordan, to a lesser extent).
Hundreds of Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli troops across the West Bank on Thursday while demonstrators in Gaza burned posters of President Donald Trump over his widely denounced decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
The leader of the Hamas militant group, which runs Gaza, called for a new armed uprising in a widespread show of anger, as the demonstrators torched American and Israeli flags.
In the West Bank, crowds of protesters set tires on fire and hurled stones at Israeli troops. In Bethlehem, troops fired water cannons and tear gas to disperse a crowd, in clashes that could cloud the upcoming Christmas celebrations in the town of Jesus’ birth. In Ramallah, the seat of the Palestinian government, protesters set tires on fire, sending a thick plume of black smoke over the city.

I'd be very curious who was supporting the Coup against him, nation-state.

Of course he is , Turkey became important to the west before the Iraq war and remains important as a strategic ally.

I believe Erodgan supported the coup against himself as it seems likely he instigated it as a way to solidify his grip on power ... seems to have worked , no ?
. Huh? Who does it then? Israel says Jerusalem is it's capital.

Doesn't this POS know that it IS NOT his (nor any US President) job to decide a foreign country's capital. Guess not...

Turkey is an important member of NATO. Edogan has been drawing nearer to Russia now that he earned Putin's respect by shooting down a Russian jet. Popular anger in Turkey about Trump's actions could give Ankara an excuse to leave the alliance. There is a very real possibility of war between countries allied to the United States. Stay tuned.

Which Admin was it under that Turkey started drawing nearer to Russia? I forget...... Turkey under Erodgan is not a true Ally. The Turkish Military maybe, but Erodgan gutted opposition there years ago under which U.S. admin again?
