Just like with her email crimes, she didn't know anything, she was incompetent and had no idea what she was doing, that's her defense.

The fact that no Trump supporter has ever given serious consideration to the Russian interference or what truth is contained in the dossier or what is determined by the FBI proves they don’t care about truth.

This is just another opportunity for their dumb witch burning while they conveniently turn a blind eye to everything else. Always a blind eye to everything concerning trump.

A bunch of phony outrage.

Am I surprised that Trump supporters show no interest in the fact that Russians ran a complex campaign to influence the 2016 election and the FBI is investigating potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia based in part on a report by a credible former MI-6 agent? Nope, not surprised.

Because Hillary.

Always because Hillary.

Trump was right. He could shoot a person in Times Square and not lose a vote. Because Hillary.

NSA, CIA, and FBI all agree with the assessment that Russia ran this campaign of interference and not once have they taken it seriously.

Of course they’re going to blame Hillary and fake news for everything. That’s who they are. When they aren’t doing that they’re defending sexual assault and White Supremacists. That’s who they are.

Am I surprised you have to invent falsehoods to try to distract from this? No. Many Trump supporters are interested in the outcome of the Russia investigation. No one wants foreign actors interfering in our election. That said, what's been coming out recently to anyone who doesn't get their news directly from DNC press releases is that Russian actors on social media were spreading all kinds of disinformation, about Clinton and Trump. The latest reports indicate that their intention appears to have been to undermine our election process, not benefit a particular candidate. The intelligence community even said the Russians thought Clinton was going to win.

As far as Clinton goes, during the campaign the defense was "oh this is all nonsense to hurt her campaign". Well it wasn't. The campaign is long over, and these issues don't just go away to people who care about justice. And that goes for both sides. If you can show me some law Don Jr. broke by having contact with a Russian, let me see it. The Clinton folks who contacted these Russians for this "opposition research" will by default be guilty of violating the same law, in addition to the FEC violations for lying about what the money was spent on.

What's really lost on me is that the US is totally ok to interfere but once someone does it against us everyone's arms are up in the air.

Like, seriously. If crimes were committed they should be punished on either side of the isle but don't pretend for a second the US innocent from such wrong doing.

I won't, actually one of the reasons Putin hates Clinton is because she spearheaded a campaign to meddle in Russia's elections. And it's not like Russia and other countries haven't tried to meddle in ours before either. This happens all the time, pretty much every major power does it. It was only a story this time because Clinton needed an excuse for running an awful campaign and losing to somebody like Trump.

Edit: the part about Clinton and Putin is in reference to this, where the State Department, through various back-channels, supposedly helped fund protests they hoped would overthrow Putin. It's all unconfirmed of course, it depends on who you believe. But we have done such things in the past, I wouldn't be surprised.

On the other hand, even if this were verified, Clinton would just claim she didn't know. Apparently she did absolutely nothing for 4 years at the State Department. Her underlings ran pretty much everything, according to her. Who wanted this idiot to be President?

Some are still hanging on for dear life. Not only did Steele not even speak to any of his 'sources', instead going through intermediaries, he paid for sources for the information! I am sure they were all having a great laugh as their bank balances grew... "Hey Steele, or whatever your name is, my sources have some more... transfer some cash and I'll send over"

Now compare that to:

Russian lawyer: "Mr. Trump, I have some dirt on Clinton, let's meet."
Don Jr.: "OK"
::meeting takes place::
Don Jr.: "Oh you got nothing, so how bout those adoptions?"

No cash changed hands, Trump didn't come out of the meeting spreading fake stories about Clinton. Where's the crime?

What Trump Jr. did was nothing compared to this scam the Dems pulled.

Yeah that's it. You caught us. Truth will win out in this whole debacle. Can you handle the truth? I'm guessing you won't be able to considering who you seemingly supported this past election. So far you don't have much to go on with your Truth claim. Your side lied for over a year about funding the Dossier. Trump is not a perfect President, nor was he a perfect candidate. He was infinitely better than the option offered us. If you honestly think the Russians swayed the election enough to get their pick in as President, then I don't know what to say to you.

Wow nice.... You forgot Nazi. I know it hard, so many names to call us.

So if it were such a MASSIVE effort by the Russians, where was the FBI, CIA and NSA during all this? Asleep at the wheel? Such a major effort by Russia to turn our election when all the way through with barely a mention, till after it was a fait accompli, doesn't that seem odd to you?

If you are correct, the whole Intelligence apparatus of the United States has failed us and yet you seem to ignore that little minor detail.

Accuse your opponent of what you are guilty of.

Caught red-handed!

Now, who is this early Republican who funded the dossier?

As I read it the DNC merely started picking up the tab.

Exactly. Trump has confirmed this and thinks he knows who it was. He is going to make John McCain's life a living hell.

If the security and intelligence agencies acted during the election they would have been accused of "playing politics." Look at the blowback Comey received for announcing that he was reopening the Clinton Email investigation. Russia's meddling did not affect the actual outcome, it has o ly poisoned the public dialogue.

So better to let the Russians hand pick their person? Yeah, that makes sense.?!?

You better talk with your standard bearer Hillary Clinton. She seems to think she lost because of the Russians and everyone else.

A campaign watchdog has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging that a political action committee supporting Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee broke the law by failing to disclose payments in connection to a now-infamous dossier claiming connections between members of the Trump campaign and Russian operatives. In a statement released Wednesday, The Campaign Legal Center (CLC) claims that Clinton PAC, Hillary for America, and the DNC did not disclose details about payments made to a law firm for work in relation to assembling the dossier — actions they say violate federal law.

This isn't exactly correct. A Republican candidate started funding this Fusion GPS for opposition research (note McCain was not a candidate in 2016, so if the report that it was one of Trump's primary rivals is true that would rule out McCain), and then the DNC and Clinton campaign picked up that research and further funded it. It was after the DNC and Clinton started funding it that Steele became involved and developed this dossier full of unsubstantiated rumors. The Republican candidate who was originally funding Fusion GPS had nothing to do with the dossier, that came later.

The fact that a Republican initially funded the opposition research is pretty much irrelevant. The bogus dossier, which is the real story, only came about after the DNC and Clinton got involved.

I personally suspect George W Bush of being the GOP guy who first hired Fusion, altho perhaps it was Jeb Bush (who was a candidate in 2016). Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio were the other two major Republican candidates. Trump has implied that he knows who this guy is, and the name will come out eventually.

(Watch as it turns out to be Ben Carson.)

It doesn't matter which candidate-- almost certainly Jeb Bush or Ted Cruz-- started the research. Trump is going to blame McCain because McCain has become the conscience of the Republican Party. It is legal to hire opposition research, and it is Fusion, not the Clinton campaign, who hired Steele.

Russia did not hand pick their candidate. The intent was to muddy the waters, and getting the FBI and CIA involved would certainly accomplish that.

Except the campaign and the DNC would be briefed on who the sources of this "research" were. Pretending they had no idea Fusion hired Steele and that Steele's sources were Russians is cute, but it's not based in reality. And none of that explains away the FEC violation.
