Wild thought just crossed my mind. What if the police accidentally shot the security guard. The officers actually were the ones fired on by the shooter as originally released to media. Now, they covering their mistake and assuring Campos he will be a hero, if he goes along with the storyline. Perhaps, even a payoff?
On Tuesday, Las Vegas Metro Police Undersheriff Kevin McMahill explained more about Campos's actions the night of the shooting, helping fill in some of what happened ahead of the attack.
He told KNPR, a local NPR affiliate, that Campos went up to the 32nd floor to investigate a door alarm. While on the 32nd floor, he found that a stairwell door was jammed and radioed down to maintenance.
Campos heard a drilling sound and thought it was odd. A maintenance worker came up to the 32nd floor. As the pair started talking, Paddock began firing through the door of his room, first with a single-fire gun and then with a rapid-fire rifle.

The entire Campos story is getting a good amount of questioning in the media, ALTHOUGH, the only news outlet I've seen claim to speak with him (briefly, by phone) is ABC News.
Why hasn't the news tracked him down and camped outside his home (like, Richard Jewell)? If they got his phone number, they could surely get his address.
I noticed you mentioned it was the maintenance guy that radioed in the hallway shooting?
Surely, Campos, being a security guard, would have a radio or cell phone?

Is it possible the early reports of 200 rounds in the hallway is simply a misinterpretation from this initial contact event?
There's gotta be something about those 200 shots fired through the door, because everything else has changed -- but not those gosh darn "200 shots".
First, the 200 shots were fired at officers as they entered the corridor... then the 200 shots were fired at the "security guard" after the shooting rampage... now the 200 shots were fired at the "security guard" before the shooting rampage.
There's something about those 200 shots.... I just don't know what it is yet.
So, he had a radio.
Did he use it when he was shot or did the maintenance man do that part...according to the current version of the story?

I think he's definitely real (Jesus campos), but something is keeping him out of the spotlight. I found the FB page for that Liliana lady that started the gofundme flr him. There's not much on her FB but she does specify that she didn't include a pic of him based on his request.
So he's purposely keeping a low profile. However it would be nice to know if this is due to him hating attention, or if he's being instructed to do so by hotel management. Perhaps a combination of both. Jesus and now the maintenance guy are in a very unique position in that they are the only ones to be in relative close proximity to SP during the shooting.

I've wondered that also. Especially in light of the Aussie guy who claims he was staying next door in 134 and saw a security guy killed in a shootout with police... but I'm not sure I believe any of his story, because Room #134 is the adjoining rooms and doesn't have a bathroom! Then again, if the cops did shoot a security guy, then maybe they would plant just such a story with easily proven mis-truths just to discredit the truth at the same time.
At this point, anything is possible.

He is a witness basically to the largest shooting in modern history I kinda think he would be keeping a low profile...or was at least asked to until the investigation is complete.
Optional adjoining bedrooms usually always have their own bathroom. Where did you see that there was no bathroom in 32-134?

Interesting Theory, but I don't see any of the concert-goers looking up at the sky.
