Thanks I did a quick google search and found this Wikipedia page just to add food for thought on the thread. I might be wrong in saying but a flash hider is not a silencer. A silencer and a muzzle flash concealer are two different things?

I'd go with no. I'm led to believe an MP5 is for close quarters shooting, one of the reasons why the SAS used them in the Iranian embassy siege back in the 80s. Also I believe they only fire 9mm bullets

Silencers do conceal most of the flash but it varies between weapons and silencer designs. Some let out more light than others. The flash hiders probably work better overall.

Still could be almost anything

A 9mm bullet traveling 400m from the 10th floor will be slowing down and tumbling, thus creating more damage than let's say a 5.56 traveling the same distance from the 34th floor, either way it's Swiss cheese

No that is quite true no one knows the caliber of ammo yet however if I were to plan something like (which I would never dream of) and knowing the position I was going to be shooting from I'd opt for the largest caliber I could get. Especially if I knew I'd be shooting from a distance

I can't really in my head make those numbers of windows line up.... I mean if you look at interior shots from the rooms and the outside of the building.

My best guess is 5.56 but after a bit of poking around... maybe .223. check out this artical

So was the shooter in the 8 sided tower looking portion?

Because Aeshma posted a link showing the actual windows broken out, and they face 2 different directions more or less. It seems like that could definitely account for different sounds.

TL;DR

Here is the police audio, some confusion on shooter location and number of shooters. Some of the comments below list interesting points in the narrative.

Another video that shows apparent muzzle flashes on a much lower floor.



I posted this on the big thread and had someone instantly try to debunk it, which makes me more suspicious. If it were just a strobe light, then the flashes would be at a regular interval. Also the sound will not match thevflashes because the video was taken a considerable distance away, sound travels about 1000ft/sec.

my issue with the strobe flash on the 4th floor is it seems to be towards valet. Is that not a different angle completely?

There definitely is something flashing there but its pretty hard to tell if it is connected to the gunfire.

Here's a scenario that could make it sound like two shooters a distance from each other.

The Shots you hear that appear to be on top of the cab. The shooter is pointing the barrel of the gun out the window or within a few inches. He stops and moves back into the room to reload. Bearing in mind we can all see from the pictures that he's in a pretty big suite, He then fires a few bursts from the middle of the suite out through the other window.
He then walks back to his original position and fires off a volley..rinse and repeat a few times and we have what appears to be shots coming from different locations.
