This just has all the hallmarks of a clandestine arms deal...that was either manipulated or went sideways.

Just my opinion...no proof...and I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.
But I keep coming back to this theory.

I keep asking why would an arms deal gone wrong result in shooting through a hotel window at concert-goers????

Perhaps the room was the sales/distribution point for 'modified' weapons.

Also, it's worth noting that a big Vega gun show was scheduled for the same week. Criminal/gang/mob/terrorist buyers would already be in town...but looking to him for some 'modified' weapons.

That still doesn't address my question AT ALL! Why shoot out the window at country music fans because an arms deal went wrong?

Depends on who Paddock was dealing with. Terrorist perhaps?

Suppose he's in the room doing deals at night.
Some bad guy terrorists show up to the room to buy guns and ammo...They see the guns...see the ammo...and see the concert going on below.
Inspiration strikes.

For Paddock...HE may have intended to 'disappear' (police say he contingency planned on escaping)...possibly, Paddock planned on disappearing to the Philippines...to change his name and settle with his gf in the new home he sent her and $$$ ahead to purchase.

He might have had a plan to escape, but I'd bet you he was well aware that this was most likely going to end badly for him, one way or another.

Maybe if he had escaped, and ended up in a chase or shootout the explosives were there for an alternative final scene?

We may never know, but it's hard to believe that he didn't know how this would end ultimately for him.

Question for you...

Do you, yourself, really believe this arms deal angle, or are you just jacking with folks?

Honest question.

Until I went to look for the "200 shots fired in the hallway" story I hadn't heard that now police are saying that the cameras he had set up weren't recording! Huh?

www.businessinsider.com...

Despite earlier reports that Paddock had cameras set up in the hallway and in his doors’s peephole police now say the cameras weren’t in use at the time of the shooting.

Makes me scratch my head....

Groups like ISIS aren't meeting some random schmuck in a hotel room to negotiate the purchase of a few civilian grade weapons. They're already getting military grade stuff by the truckload.

And even then, why would an arms dealer be selling guns registered to him that had been purchased over an extended period of time?

It also ignores the fact that he had booked a similarly positioned room across from Lollapalooza but never showed.

Honest answer:
IDK what is true yet.
I'm exploring the angles...because I think there must be more to this story.

They just happen to bring cameras with them and a sledge hammer for the windows, too, eh?
We've gone from "all the hallmarks" to cloud cuckooland.

I'm not even discounting the idea that he was involved in shady alphabet activities, or there is an active attempt to cover up parts of this story, but the particular narrative you are pushing is uniquely bad.

They can if he met them online or got radicalized in Saudi Arabia

Pretty convenient that we now won't have a record of who came up and down that wing or when, eh what?
This investigation stinks to high heaven

Only arms deal angle makes any sense.

If you plan to shoot a lot of people, you don't need a lot of guns.

You need one gun and lots of bullets.

A man only has two arms. Can't fire 19 semi-automatic rifles with two arms.

The fact that he had so many guns in the hotel room, signals to us that he was "showing" these items to one or more buyers, just like a gun store would.

That's an opinion.
Not a fact.

If you can prove he was an arms dealer you'd be better off contacting the investigators regarding this. Let them know they can stop doing their jobs.

Exactly if he was trying to escape he's not going to be trying to carry 23 guns out he would have left a few guns at home, some in his car and have some more guns for future attacks. It makes absolutely no sense for him to try and escape yet leave behind all his arsenal come on folks think outside the box

Not inside the U.S.

He planned on disappearing by leaving the country.

It may have been a coincidence...or a dry run.

Perhaps he was not just selling guns & ammo...but a 'pre-planned terror event package' to the highest bidder.
