So we're Nazi's if we think it's disrespectful and annoying when football players, entertainers, do this.

hmmph.

Is that really what I said? Are you guys getting so triggerable that the mere mention of Nazis raises your hackles and you think the discussion is about you?

Read my post again, I called none of you Nazis.

I'm not triggered, just wondering why you called us Nazi's because we disagree with you.

Where did I call you a Nazi?

Me: "A Nazi walked into a bar..."
ATS Membership: "WHAT DID YOU CALL ME"?!

You're the one who brought up Nazi's.

But I will caveat and just say you "inferred" it.

If bringing up Nazis makes you feel like one, that's on you.

Fake Outrage. This is America, we were founded on protest and revolution and pissing people off! That's what we do! We don't stand for that PC Crap and we have the freedom to do whatever the heck we want to do, whenever the heck we want to do it!

Hear,hear..Well said starred, and I'll add God bless the USA.

Why is this so controversial? Kneeling is a really classy way to protest, it's passive resistance almost. It's not like they're yelling LALALA to drown out the anthem, or making rude gestures, jumping up and down, or anything like that. Kneeling is almost a submissive position to take, just a nice, quiet protest. I'd be offended if they burned a flag, but forcing someone to stand up seems pretty extreme, no? This is absolutely within their rights, if you ask me.

Having said that, I think the bosses have a right to penalize for this, too. I guess they just have to decide for themselves whether they support this protest or not, and how much financial risk they are willing to take if they do support it.

That's just it though. He's playing to his base. They'll eat it up as usual. Wrapped in the flag of course.

Oh I bet this is how Trump feels.

The thing that will change this is when the advertising $$$ drop, the players will stand or have strict sanctions applied to their paychecks.

,

Don't hold your breath. The NFL is healthy and the few pissed at this mean little to the league.

No, no it's not.
Stadiums aren't filling up anymore, ratings are down across the board.
The Chargers might have to move back to S.D.

The sponsors ads will cost less, ticket prices(which are already to damn high) will go down.
And therefore players will make less.

Add on to that all the CTE issues they are facing, and its going to get worse.

The NFL in some form will probably always exist, but it wont be the power house it once was.

Baseball took a huge hit after the steroid era, it's just now beginning to recover.

She brought it up.

And really, it's not the first time for many posters here.

Then again, I "imply" that many are Marxists all the time.

So fair game and all that I suppose.

Screw those overpaid divas. The hypocritical idiots do play for the, ahem, NATIONAL football league after all.

Trump Supporters prefer college football anyhow....namely the SEC.

Hell yeah.

Why should players be penalized? In fact, why do we even play the national anthem at football games to begin with? That always seemed stupid to me anyway. I can understand playing the national anthems for sports teams that are from different countries (like the World Cup, the Olympics, etc). But all of the NFL teams are in the US.

Remind me when the USA is completly isolated and this idiot starts a war on twitter. He is entitled to his opinion but as a president this activity is silly.

No one.

I misread a post and assumed that the poster was calling anyone critical of the football players protest, a Nazi.

My fault.

I apologize.

Go Hawks!

Bennett is engaging in a peaceful protest; heeding his conscience by engaging his 1st Amendment rights as any American should be both willing and able to do.

Also, as is customary when mentioning Bennett, I must say; would you look at those shoulder pads.

It's like a "people named Bob convention" and they start out every event with everybody introducing themselves as Bob.
