Tiny grassroots movement in Oz = global attack of Father's Day.

Ok. Maybe in your head.

Here's an idea! Stop giving them attention if you disagree. No really, save your breath and carry on. Parent holidays aren't going anywhere unless the practitioners of the holidays drop them. For example, in my house, we don't do Mother's Day OR Father's Day, because 1.) As a mom, I find it utterly stupid (show your appreciation when the inspiration hits, not when society says, it means more, m'kay? And 2.) My husband feels as a father that Father's Day is just as much a shallow and hollow day as I see Mother's Day as.

Therefore, unless more folks start seeing these holidays as a tiny minority do (not worthwhile) then they're not going anywhere. We know we're the minority, it's a Whatever Floats the Boat thing. Do what you want and quit acting like Chicken Little because a couple of harpies on the other side of the planet have a sad, lonely life & got pissy about it.

Edit: I stopped reading one page too soon, lmao. I see this is a hoax. Well now, even more reason to ignore it & carry on!

If you look at the article, the picture of that woman you posted and the other blonde besides her, if you look at the lettering on their signs was digitally added. The letters are even seen above the hand of the woman.

Maybe originally it said something like: "Men Rules", for all we know.

Tossing in "boilerplate" seemingly at random is about 50% of the OPs argument style.

Just wait, I'm sure he had a "nothing burger" or two waiting for just the right moment to come out of his buzz word bag.

Sometimes I try to guess what type of reply is posted by the name of the poster, before I actually read it. I got it exactly right in your case.

Awww, thanks!

I can't say the same for you but I always have it narrowed down to about 10 members on here when it's a "boiler plate" thread about obscure liberal shenanigans.

Unless it's Xuenchen. That guy had his own flavor of alarmist charm.

Yeah, only a liberal would come up with this lunacy. What else is new?

This would obviously be offensive to both fathers and children who DO celebrate it. Which I'd imagine is in the millions. Not gonna happen.

It wasn't meant as a compliment so please don't take it as one.

This thread is a boilerplate nothingburger if bigly proportions.

I'd never expect a sincere compliment from you.

Compliments towards those you disagree with require stepping off the fill-in-the-blanks templates and onto a plane of independent intent.

I don't have that problem. For example, you are a decent speller. See?

As to this thread... I doubt there is a person here who wants to eliminate that holiday. It's silly to inflate such an opinion. If that was standard fare, we could fill these boards with threads about Christians wanting to behead non-Christians and burn their daughters to death because that's what some fundamentalist Christians do in Africa.

It's a waste of time trying to sew these people to Christians because it's not true. Just like the insinuation in this thread is not true.

Well we had a good run before we made to the LOL forum and it's been entertaining. I have to confess that being responsible for getting a LOL thread on to the front page gives me a perverse kick.

Nah, but it looks like you should have "Googled" a bit more before believing nonsense, eh?

Still, good to keep your hand in on the liberal bashing ... even if you got suckered.

So this is considered a "Ludicrous Online Lie" because the OP didn't specify exactly which liberals committed the offense? There is nothing unfactual or misleading about the title. Just more censorship and marginalization by our disproportionately libtarded staff.

"Boilerplate" is a common term in web development and I wasn't aware it had reached buzzword status. A rational person would assume the OP is a developer, but I'm sure that's a tough one for you to swallow seeing as how anyone who disagrees with you must be an uneducated racist, misogynist, bigot.

Oh man, you're kidding.

I sincerely hope all the liberal-haters who got outraged by this false story sit down and have a good think about how out of touch with reality they've become in their never-ending desire to hate-all-liberals even if there is no reason to. Because seriously. THere's people out there pumping out anti-liberal propaganda, and a bunch of you are falling for it time and time again.

Liberalism = freedom and equality.

If you're against liberalism, you're against the ideas of freedom and equality.

I'm not even a liberal but can see this. Hope others catch on to seeing through the absurdity.

So this group in Australia are NOT liberals? Is that what you're telling me?

What makes this a false story? Does the title say "Liberals At Large" or "Liberals In General"?

No it doesn't. You guys implied that yourselves. It's called a strawman. Rather than addressing the topic, you chose to use semantics to attack the OP.

Normally Gryphon would have a major gripe or two over using such tactics, but here he/she is leading the charge on this one. Go figure.
