Is 48.2 greater than or less than 46?

/shrug

You said:

The point is that the MAJORITY of the AMERICAN PEOPLE didn't want DONALD TRUMP as THEIR PRESIDENT.

You failed to mention that is completely normal and, in fact, the MAJORITY of the AMERICAN PEOPLE didn't want ANY CANDIDATE IN THE HISTORY OF YOUR COUNTRY'S ELECTIONS as THEIR PRESIDENT.

I did say that, but that's not addressing which candidate received the majority of votes cast, as I said.

Boy do you guys look silly.

You guys are getting awfully pedantic about someone being pendantic. ... and you're still wrong

There is a difference between a majority and a plurality.. Something Clinton supporters cant seem to understand.

None of which has to do with the topic of the thread.

Yes you did say that and it was a rather silly thing to say.
I hope one day you learn how your elections work.

There is a big clue, though, to help you:

Hahaha!!!!

YES!!!

You never fail to disappoint! Rather than admit your mistake, you double down!

Lets go through our conversation, shall we?

You

Most people who voted didn't vote for him. Yet, you're all so "surprised" that his approval/disapproval numbers are in the toilet.

I say

"Most people that voted didn't vote for Hillary either. So whats your point?"

you

The point is that the MAJORITY of the AMERICAN PEOPLE didn't want DONALD TRUMP as THEIR PRESIDENT.

me

"Then who did the majority want? Oh thats right, no one. So why is this relevant again? "

You

LOL ... it's probably not to a Trump supporter.

However, to the rest of us, it makes a lot of sense.

PS: Not to split hairs, but the person who got 2.8 Million more of those Popular Votes than Trump would actually constitute a majority of the votes received ... but you know, that's just math.

See that is what we were discussing. You started off by saying the majority of those THAT VOTED didn't vote for Trump.

I point out they didn't vote for Hillary either.

You then try to squirm and act as if she did get the majority of the VOTES RECEIVED.

Quite clever, but as always, transparent. You are unable to argue a point legitimately, so you try to change definitions when you realize your point has been proven wrong.

And at the end of the day, she still did not get the majority of the people that voted, which was your intial point.

She did not get the majority of the votes cast. That would mean she got over 50% of the votes cast, which she did not do.

Again, you look foolish.

I think he wants to shift to UK election language to describe the US elections - probably to cover the embarrassment of the mistake.

In the UK, majority is used for the most votes when discussing election results, though less so now. The majority of parliament is pretty well understood to mean more than 50% of the seats. It's a tactic, though, to try and wriggle out of what was a mistake.

Well done for listing the full exchange. Glad you are noticing how these people tend to veer off onto a different debate when they get something wrong.

Clinton did receive the majority of the votes cast as I said.

You guys are so obsessed you're not thinking... rounding off

Clinton won 48%
Trump won 46%
Johnson won 4%
Stine won 2%

Guessing on the last two as I'm on my phone.

Now of those four numbers what is the greatest number of votes received?

Majority means "the greatest number" as I've pointed out.

No - she received a plurality of the votes since she didnt breach the 50% mark. Majority means greater than 50%.

Again we dont use a national popular vote.

Why did people in the obama admin feel the need to use false email names / accounts. What exactly were they hiding, other than their crimes.

Of course the "popular vote" is irrelevant to those so desperate to cover up the fact that Trump only received 46% of the national vote.

Most people who voted didn't vote for him. Yet, you're all so "surprised" that his approval/disapproval numbers are in the toilet.

So whats your point?

Really?

You really haven't gotten beyond the "but Hillary" stage?

The point is that the MAJORITY of the AMERICAN PEOPLE didn't want DONALD TRUMP as THEIR PRESIDENT.

Is it really that difficult to understand?

Then who did the majority want?

Oh thats right, no one.

So why is this relevant again?

You know its no big deal to make a simple mistake about things like the popular vote.

But to be so arrogant, and "explain" how math works, while being absolutely wrong is pretty sad.

I think your gif sums it up.

That user is special. By special I don't mean it in a bad way, rather in a...unique way.

That is not what majority means and you know it. Especially when you started off claiming "Most people who voted didn't vote for Trump".

You are trying to change the definition because you realize you were wrong.
