Otherwise we are locked into our shell, our trap, well, repository, vessel.
Either embrace the suck or take a walk on the wild side. Your choice....
I think we are meant to 'do our time' here first. How we behave is key, we do have a choice in that, all our little choices add up over a lifetime, revealing our proclivity.

From around the 14th century it was fashionable for a single red rose, once a year, to be paid as a "peppercorn" rent. One of the buildings that I care for, when it was bequeathed to the church by it's then owner in the mid 1500s, was done so on the provision that she would live out her days there and pay one red rose as rent. I had thought it an oddity but have since found that it was a fairly common peppercorn currency in England, I don't know about elsewhere.

I liked the story. Particularly the end, though the Nightingale clearly wasted her life, and the "hero" obviously lacked the heart to appreciate the subject that came, dusty, to his hand.

Maybe some are assigned, watchful, sheperds, especially family members passed on we have never met.
But meet in dreams, maybe. Ever have a dream wth a guide or friend you can't remember later? Ever meet groups of strangers that seem familiar and yet unknown to you?
There is a point where the 64 siddhas or personifications show up that will either continue to trick you as tests or work in your favor
The Tamil Siddhas are outside system-builders; their whole technique is to jolt people out of their intellectual ruts, and their conventional, barren, morality. They laid before their audience an abrasive, shocking, uncompromising message exhorting them to shed their delusions, pretensions, and empty orthodoxies in favor of an intense, direct, personal confrontation with truth
This is kind of why I wanted to punch everyone in the nose after waking up in fruition like its just one huge facade a game
