Welcome home Gordi! Happy Father's Day to you! How was your Island stay? It was fun writing in your Shed story!

Thank you.
Island was great.
Am not feeling too well just now, maybe just a bit run-down or something hanging on me? But had a great time none-the-less.
Yeah I like that story line and the creative additions to it too!

Greetings one and all. My sister said she would be over today for Father's Day and all that so I don't know how much I will be here until later today. If you see my avatar going bonkers it is because I may be looking into changing it.

lucid found himself alone on the porch of a dilapidated old shed, rainbow paint peeling off, the windows dusted over, the welcome mat in tatters. it was raining slightly, the light driving mist sometimes called angels tears. he cane to his senses to find himself sitting here with his head in his hands. He looked about wearily, he came from a mortal realm of far lesser magic and had grown to be unsurprised by anything random this world threw. Around the little shed, barely more than a shack, loomed a forest of dead trees. He rose to his feet, then, and turned around, reaching to open the door.

He paused for the briefest moment as his fingertips whispered over the doorknob, this place felt... Like home, but like something was missing. He realized as he walked in that though he had never been inside before he knew everyone there. Gordis booming laugh was absent from the hall, nightstar wasnt roaming around checking on everyone, in fact everyone wasnt even here... Where did everyone go? Shep with his staff, the blue guy, the songbird and the troll, the rest of their family for which there were too many to name them all?

Without even realizing it Lucid had grabbed his pen from his pocket, feeling the tickling sensation that signified a story pressing upon him. Only, this time... This time he wrote to connect, he knew the lines between the members. He felt them there, just out of reach, knew that sheps staff gave him the best chance of being able to see in thelis place. Lucid didnt need to see, he had his pen to feel with. So he wrote, lines in the air spilling forth to connect the elf, the scotsman, the warrior and the shepherd.

"Can you guys hear me?"

The young warrior sat there completely in the moment with her, his mind empty with wonder and magic. He hadnt let go of her hand since they had sat down and marvelled at the way it fit into his, tingling as they rested on the rock between them. Far below them, mermaids chased each other in the waves and far out in the distance two dragons dipped and whirled around each other in a slow, graceful dance. He smiles as she lays back to sleep. The light was just beginning to fade to black and the night air was soft and cool. He takes of his overcoat, for this young warrior wore a suit, and drapes it over her. As she drifted off to sleep, a song poured from his lips.

"Sink, far below the waves
To greet the majesty of oceans
Sound, as you embrace sleep
Fret not, for the waters cooling edge
Will protect you, its soft motions
Will cover you, as you dream
It will fill you with peace.

The ocean knows, many things,
For it travels everywhere,
Waving to all it should meet.
It listens to the words spoken
Nearby, it laps them up as the shore
Runs by. The whole world in motion,
Swinging round you in sleep,
Calming commotion,
As you sink into the deep."

Well, today is almost over now. It turned out to be just a so-so day. At least tomorrow I get a little bit of a break from my dad as he takes mom in to get her dreaded shot in the back to relieve her pain. Maybe she will feel good enough to come out of her bedroom more often then.

I love your new Avi. he is so adorable in a trollish cute manner. Hugs.
I love avatars. They can express our emotions and sentiments in ways real life pictures would obscure.

I can't begin to fathom the stress your home life puts on you, so all I can offer is my prayers and compassion.
Know you are cared for.

Well done Young Luke. As a sailor I appreciate your depiction of the Mighty Sea.
I do recall those calm days of bliss.
You captured much of the sentiment, but She contains absolute ferocity, malice and unforgiving force, too.
Well done.

Gordis story thread: the idea is that we each here in the shed find by some magic that we have found ourselves in seperate dimensions which overlap only slightly.

BEFORE:
There spread out before him was the Land of No Time, with the Vast Effin Woods stretching out towards the mountains of Moddar. He was back where it all began.
But How? and Why?
He stepped out into the field, trying to make sense of it all, and glanced back to see... a small rickety old shack!!! Where the splendid and beautiful rainbow-coloured shed had been!

His heart sank as he thought of his friends and what could have happened to them.... and his mood darkened as he remembered that the dark woods of Effin were full of Ogres and other creatures of the dark... and no one likes Effin Ogres.

NOW:
Gordi slumped onto the damp grass in the field behind the rickety old shack, trying to make sense of what had happened. The scene stretched before him was somehow fuzzy and faded - like watching an old movie.
The landscape was so... familiar. This was where it had all begun long ago, but the poor little shed had lost all of its magic somehow. There was no trace of the rainbow-coloured paint, no dragons, no laughter... and it dawned on him that he missed his friends badly.
Suddenly, something caught his eye... nothing more than a tiny glint of light at first - there above the rickety shack! And again... a faintly-glowing shimmering sparkle.
It was moving in an arc, out from the centre of where the kitchen would have been, fading away and then arcing again in a slightly different direction, but from the same point of origin?
The motion reminded him of someone waving a flag... or a... Wand!!
Someone was casting a spell!!! BUT, was this "someone" causing all of this chaos, or trying to fix it?

The big Scot rose to his feet and steadily advanced towards the old shack, keeping his focus on the motion of the sparkling light. It was getting stronger & brighter now, and he thought that he could make out the faint silhouette of an arm... a shoulder... Was that NightStar??
His eyes widened and his heart began to race... It WAS NightStar! She was trying to cast a protective spell over the shed... but where was she??? Gordi had searched every single room only a few minutes earlier.

He quickened his pace and broke into a slight run as he got near to (what would become) the rear gardens and then FROZE in horror as he heard a blood-curdling roar coming from the woods behind him.
His sword was in his hand even before he had even finished whirling around to face the threat.
A wizened old tree on the edge of the woods shook rhythmically then fell to the ground with a tremendous C-R-A-C-K-! as a huge Ogre emerged onto the far side of the field.

It was staring menacingly at Gordi and the tiny, rickety old shack...
