Yeah, it makes no sense to the rest of the world to call Middle Easterners Asians, but you all do, for whatever the reason.

Camden Town council probably want to review the way they do a busy road in the middle of a hugely crowded pedestrian zone with no crash barriers around about now. Probably another third of London wants to give it some thought, to.

Horrible incident..nasty looking injuries, looks like at least a couple of people got flung over the side of the bridge. Hope they make a speedy recovery.

There is carnage here, definitely. Londoners can probably more accurately "speculate" my feeling here - but to me Westminster doesn't seem like a full on ISIS/Al Q MO sort of target, because that is not a maximum damage area, when you take somewhere like Camden Town into account where, to put it bluntly, you could run over about 500 people in one swoop. If you had a car for each side of the road, make that 1000. It's terrible to think about, but this is clearly going to highlight such dangers in hopefully a positive way for protecting Londoners in the future (and don't let that put you off, London does have a lot of crash barriers in pedestrian areas...just not all of them, like they are required a by law or whatnot).

Personally I'd shout more black than Asian but hard to be sure from the pic.

None of my friends in the UK would refer to him as an Asian.... as I've been texting them the since it happened and they referred to him as Pakistani, Iraqi, or from a Muslim country like that. I said I heard it was an Asian guy.... and they immediately sent me the picture and said THAT GUY ISN'T FROM ASIA. Odd........

He said he works in Commons so i would assume an usual increase in the numbers of armed units perhaps?

Fair comment, especially as mine was tongue in cheek (sorry). Generally there are a few visible armed police but most are plain clothes. Perhaps there were more in uniform?

His emphasis was that he was working really late as usual and witnessed the place filled with armed cops.

There was intel prior to attack and this explains the laptop ban to an extent , the terrorists could be from Yemen .

So in the moment that they were about to discuss the Scottish referendum to leave the UK, a "terrorist attack" happens... Not a bomb, just 2 dead people, and a few injured, no other damage.

Maybe it's more the UK media then.

But I pretty much always see people from the Middle East referred to as Asians and it makes little sense to the rest of us. I mean, when media says this guy looks Asian in appearance and he clearly looks nothing like someone from China or Japan or Korea, I don't get it.

Well there isn't one race in Asia. It's a very big place. Stretching from the Sinai to Ho Chi Minh City.

India, Large portions of Russia, and most of the Middle East are in Asia (Egypt and Libya are called Middle Eastern countries but are in Africa)

That first guy is Oriental. The second guy is Asian. Not sure what your point is?

One snippet that made me smile a bit.
The river cops pulled a badly injured woman from the Thames. She's alive though, hope she pulls through cos she has beaten some odds already.

What's worrying in general is this trend is increasing, with things anyone has access to.

Mow down crowds with a vehicle or go slashing people with knives. Increasing in Europe.
