Why Didn't America Take Over the World (1945-1950)

well lets think about how rome, macedonia, mongolia, russia, the US and canada got so big.

much less people lived in all these places than in the world in 1945 and the targets were mostly far less advanced and not used to war.

less people = easier conquest

but the biggest reason is that americans are mostly cowards that hate fighting and look for the easiest way to benefit off others, that's why we put so much focus on air and sea power, on drones, missiles, on space, technology, etc.

we have always stayed at a distance from combat and rarely get into full scale wars

Yet, it is still known as "The Greatest Generation".... why? Look at the sacrifices made by Americans in the 40's. How many of us died to free Europe?

We don't nuke people because it's immoral, as for Japan..that was the demo. Japan reaped what it sowed in a sense..too bad the civillians paid for it.

Hitler wanted to racially cleanse the world and repopulate it with Germans.. not rule it.. when you rule some where the population is your people and it's your duty to protect them.

Rule it and do a better job than the last guy and the peasants are usually cool.

My grandparents survived WWI, the Great Depression, and WWII. We are of Scottish heritage, and we survive. My grandparents were far more hardy, and survived crap that we cannot understand today.

Had Hitler won there would be Germany and the USA. The US was actually a big silent proponent of Hitler's Germany, even during WW2.

The US was building a massive naval military for just that reason.
