Progressives understand evolution, change, human rights, cultural relativism, embracing other cultures and walks of lifes, globalization. Many of your right wing type are too intolerant, war mongering, and espouse Christian-Judeo values tied into the war machine. Many of them are extremist, isolationist, and not open minded to different experiences/ideas.

And nobody has any right to talk down on progressives when it has been progressives that has allowed technological evolution and progress in science. If it wasn't for progressives we would still be stuck in the stone ages.

Yeah, and it's true many of them can have wild behavior but so what? Everyone goes through a wild child phase. Everyone is eccentric to a certain extent.

Many of the patients aren't dangerous however. Most of them are incredibly average in fact.

Yes. If you don't have a personal experience of schizophrenia (family member, relative, loved one), you will have a hard time really grasping what a mental illness actually is... I have been knee deep in this stuff for 5 years now, and my understanding of why mental illness is a real problem, keeps getting deeper. And let me tell you, I was on your side of the table until just recently.

These symptoms you are listing, are of course all normal feelings that anyone can have, but are very much warped in a schizophrenic individual. I could spend all day trying to explain myself - but I think a profound understanding of this requires a lot of personal exposure to mental illness.

This all being said, I don't agree with stuffing pills down the throats of everybody (since not even injections are helping the one who is sick in my family), but there is obviously something wrong with his mind and nothing that has been done so far seems to help. We have tried so much and so many approaches...

But you go right ahead and say that mental health workers are all just working on a rigged scheme that aims to hep no one. It's not perfect, it isn't always effective, but it is the only thing we got. Id like to see your suggestions on how else we should approach this, or point to some other means that mental health problems could be dealt with.

I made peace with death before the war by a Japanese method of conditioning the mind by assuming death and it worked...but NOW it 's ungainly an a tad scary to many.

I agree that much of the mental sector is wrapped in the trappings of the dollar....

But having worked in that field ages ago, there are most certainly mental illnesses

The BEHAVIORS issues you point out are merely the symptom of many very serious issues


You talk about moving forward w science and yet disregard the clear science of issues like schizophrenia, sociopathy, and other personality disorders.

You explain this away as side effects of meds, but neglect the fact that to even be put in meds in the first place they have to display the characteristics of whatever their disorder is

How is there a mental illness? It has been proven the medicine is unnecessary. Psychiatric medicine has been known to make people suicidal and even homicidal.

Why do you keep perpetuating the mental illness myth when there has been no physical evidence to prove it exists?

Doctors involved in the big pharma industry know that to have a money making scheme you first invent a drug then you invent a "disease" where the doctors can prescribe the drug.
