I don't like Obama--I have stated so, but I have never made it a point to herald my opinion out into the masses. That would just be STUPID. I largely kept my peace for eight years. I was unhappy at the direction our country was moving in, but I didn't make it my Raison D'être to call Obama out. That would be a. a waste of mine and everyone's time b. mean, and classless.

Union's are necessary. I have worked abroad where Union's and OSHSA are not present. Even the Big 3 exploit it's workers in 3rd world countries without Union's. I've personally seen child labor in a Chrysler plant in Toluca, Mexico, and more.

If it wasn't for the Union's large corporation's would still be exploiting child labor, and worse.

If Union's are a cancer let's hope it spreads to the rest of the world fast, because the fat ass CEO's and execs, at the top, don't give a crap about grunts at the bottom.

I agree I joined a union a few months back and I'm so glad I did. Already suing my company because I found out they were screwing us. I walked into a meeting with my union rep and he destroyed them with the law.

The number is actually released by Carrier not Trump. Trump just repeated what Carrier said. The union leader is a Democrat hack, so why would anyone believe him.

The "working man's" platform that Trump campaigned/pandered on is now proven to be the biggest lie/flip-flop of his entire campaign as his cabinet is now a collection of the most cut-throat profiteering, anti-labor, CEOs in America...apart from the war dogs...neither bodes well for what is to come in the next 4 years.

OP, produce a copy of the "deal that saved 1,100 jobs". Otherwise, you are guessing. Are you guessing? I think you are guessing. I seriously doubt it is possible to know exactly how many jobs were saved unless that number was part of the contract. Cherry-picking sources that are guess numbers that affirm what you believe already is not helpful. The most important source would be Carrier corporation itself in this, which did not say the number of jobs saved. Yet, their website says NOTHING about this:

Until Carrier issues a public statement about the number of jobs saved, it would be highly speculative to claim any one number.

Every statement is only as strong as the source of that statement. Workers unions are well known for being above all extensions of the Democrat party, so that would make the unions a terrible source for an accurate number of jobs saved by Trump's negotiations.

The 550 Indianapolis facility people really thought they were keeping their jobs. They were laid off, so carrier can hire 550 in Monterey, Mexico.

None of these numbers make sense. It seems to only leave the R&D jobs that were never leaving.

yeah exactly. people dont actually think they rationalize events based on their bias. dont just join a team, you gotta look at things objectively, if you dont then you cant make rational decisions. even though I believe trumps intentions are in the right place i will stand against him if he starts doing the wrong thing just as i stood against hillary. right now im just hoping that his actions match his words but why would i stand with him if he makes bad decisions. hes not my friend, im not being paid by him, theres no downside to being objective. people just have serious cognitive dissonance when it comes to stuff like this. i never got how someone can be so attached to their beliefs that they completely disregard truth and facts. and the sad part is they seem to be in the majority.
