I was in the army around 2011 and we had no sensitivity training thankfuly.

Interesting is that Mattis was a fall back for the #Nevertrump crowd.

His name was bantered about if the GOP/NeverTrump crowd could manage a contested convention and hope to pitch Mattis to congress in a deciding vote.

He was nominated by both Pres. Bush and Pres. Obama...but was nudged out under Obama after a couple years when it was said that Mattis was more and more advocating for war with Iran.

So my take away is...if ever the war-hawk stars aligned for war with Iran...It is now.

No, the city was full of insurgents and the people who supported them.
Those who were in the city and did not support the insurgents were allowed to leave once the perimeter was established. If you stayed you did so because you were supporting the insurgents or you were their captive.
Bottom line you were in a war zone. Stuff happens in a war zone, like people getting killed.
Sometimes people held captive are killed when the bad guys get whats coming to them. Sucks but it is how things go sometimes.
White Phosphorus is used for illumination and to start things on fire.

Maybe they should not have dragged dead American bodies through the streets and hung them from a bridge.

He has made it clear that we should have bombed the hell out of Iran years ago.

He is a strong deterrent..aka appropriately scary option...as long as he is NOT left to drive strategy by himself...cuz the guy does love war.

Never married..never had children...which I do believe informs Military Decisions whilst sending boys, dads,moms, sisters and brothers etc into war..

He also sits on the board of directors of General Dynamics and takes 1M+ a year from them (250k in salary and about 800k in stock last year) ...And they build the Subs that Donald wants to spend big on...but that is another issue.

Mattis makes McCain's tune of "bomb, bomb, bomb..bomb, bomb Iran" seen like a lullaby.

Russia would have to give up Iran though...or Trump would need to tell Putin to Eff off and get into a proxy war.

Iran's a pawn and if the USA bombs them it's domino effect in the middle east and Russia is all in..

Hopefully Trump just wants Mattis as a negotiating piece to bring seriousness to his proposals in the middle east.

But who the hell knows with Trump.
