Who do I think I am? I am a man of GOD. This country was founded on the principles of the BIBLE, and it's fruits like you that are making this country an embarrassment. Our own president, as well as every president of this great nation in the past have all been Christians. And yes, I do try my best to live by my Bible. Thank You.

You have lost your mind to insinuate that the Bible, the inspired word of GOD was plagerized. Don't put crap like that on here.

I beg your pardon but you have no say so as to what gets put here! Yes, it's true...ya know, you do not have to believe anyone...you could actually try studying it yourself, opening your mind, and learning it for yourself...the history is there to read....you just have to research. I suggest you do so!

oh, but wait a second ladyV ... wasnt it you that said that the credablility of man's writing is not all that good?
how can i trust this research that other poeple have done? how do i know that they arent just trying to do the same thing people in here are doing? making conclusions that apperently debunk christianity, but then again have no background to be able to... tisk tisk ..

frankly yours

"I think that you have been misinformed when you say that Daniel or any other prophet in the Bible conjured spirits or used mediums. That sounds like the words of a witch trying to feel better for what they do"

what i said was; what you call a Medium, others call a Prophet. It is YOUR perspective that comes into play. Simply calling someone a Medium or a Witch, does not make them so. they do not follow the same concept of Faith that you may follow. And i do not profess to being a Witch.

lets stick to the Bible, which seems to be the reference of Choice here;

Daniel in the lions den and walking in fire, Elijah being caught up to heaven, Moses healing the israelites with a Brass serpent, looked at from any other perspective is what you would call a Witch. They are of the divine because they served God at that time, in that particular book of the Bible. That is the point i was trying to make.

Who is anyone to decide who else serves God? Does someone have power to discern the soul and which power that soul serves? Does someone on this board know Gods purpose? Jesus didnt pretend to know, but people reading the Bible know?

The Social worker serving soup to the hungry, or a homeless man giving what few possessions he has to keep another warm is closer to what god taught, and what Jesus intended for us. This is the definition of Divinity. everything else is filler.

Uh the first president was a Mason, hell, didn;t have a christian president till about the 7th or 8th one. Also, some of them were athiest. Not all presidents were christians. Why do you think the Washington Monument was built by Masons by Mason design?(5 is a important number in Masonary, and the Washington Monument is built based on 5)

Anyways, sorry, that kills that arguement.

The bible is about what? 1800 years old, Judaism is a hell of alot older, and Wicca(base form anyways) is about 30,000 years older, what the hell makes the bible so right? Wait, earth only 6,000 years old....and flat......hahahahahaha, sorry, couldn't keep a straight face at that bull.

Edit. Jesus was a Jew, his mother was a Jew, the Apostles were Jews. They were all JEWS! Christianity wasn't CREATED untill about what? 300ad? 400ad?

My inlaws pray in public, BELIEVE ME. We have had to hold hands and pray at shoney's breakfast bar. I pray all the time, but my midwestern upbringing just finds this over the top. I hate the southern tradition of holding hands to pray, granted I am not a fan of touching others.

Also, you see masses of Christians praying in public every Sunday Morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night.

Sorry...your wrong again. You may be a man of god but sure need to learn your own history.....

The Bible? Here is what our Founding Fathers wrote about Bible-based Christianity:

Thomas Jefferson:

I have examined all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology. Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to support roguery and error all over the earth.
SIX HISTORIC AMERICANS,
by John E. Remsburg, letter to William Short
Jefferson again:
Christianity...(has become) the most perverted system that ever shone on man. ...Rogueries, absurdities and untruths were perpetrated upon the teachings of Jesus by a large band of dupes and importers led by Paul, the first great corrupter of the teaching of Jesus.
More Jefferson:
The clergy converted the simple teachings of Jesus into an engine for enslaving mankind and adulterated by artificial constructions into a contrivance to filch wealth and power to themselves...these clergy, in fact, constitute the real Anti-Christ.
Jefferson's word for the Bible?
Dunghill.
John Adams:
Where do we find a precept in the Bible for Creeds, Confessions, Doctrines and Oaths, and whole carloads of other trumpery that we find religion encumbered with in these days?
Also Adams:
The doctrine of the divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity.
Adams signed the Treaty of Tripoli. Article 11 states:
The Government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion.
Here's Thomas Paine:
I would not dare to so dishonor my Creator God by attaching His name to that book (the Bible).

Among the most detestable villains in history, you could not find one worse than Moses. Here is an order, attributed to 'God' to butcher the boys, to massacre the mothers and to debauch and rape the daughters. I would not dare so dishonor my Creator's name by (attaching) it to this filthy book (the Bible).

It is the duty of every true Deist to vindicate the moral justice of God against the evils of the Bible.

Accustom a people to believe that priests and clergy can forgive sins...and you will have sins in abundance.

The Christian church has set up a religion of pomp and revenue in pretended imitation of a person (Jesus) who lived a life of poverty.

Finally let's hear from James Madison:

What influence in fact have Christian ecclesiastical establishments had on civil society? In many instances they have been upholding the thrones of political tyranny. In no instance have they been seen as the guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wished to subvert the public liberty have found in the clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government, instituted to secure and perpetuate liberty, does not need the clergy.

Madison objected to state-supported chaplains in Congress and to the exemption of churches from taxation. He wrote:

Religion and government will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together.

These founding fathers were a reflection of the American population. Having escaped from the state-established religions of Europe, only 7% of the people in the 13 colonies belonged to a church when the Declaration of Independence was signed.

References: The writings of Thomas Jefferson exist in 25 volumes. The references for this article were found in the book, SIX HISTORIC AMERICANS, by John E. Remsburg (who interviewed many of Lincoln's associates). Much of his work on Jefferson came from THE MEMOIRS, CORRESPONDENCE AND MISCELLANIES FROM THE PAPERS OF THOMAS JEFFERSON, 4 volumes ed. by Thomas Jefferson Randolph (the grandson of Thomas Jefferson).

I can't believe how there are people that actually do not know their own history! It just boggles my mind!

actually some time after jesus dies, (maybe 10-100 years) was the first event of christianity.. a gentile was baptised.. and incase you dont know thats a huge thing.. because untill that point, only jews were allowed to be baptised.
next point. yes jesus was a jew and believed in jewish things(nothing new there) but he preached that all people should be saved. thus making christianity a branch of judaesim.. and thus extending its roots further back than 1800 years.

frankly yours

Christianity is not debunked by historical fact.

what is debunked is the History of beliefs that organized religions have fallen into love with.

Does someone here seriously believe the Crystal Cathedral is somehow a god thing? that Pat robertson follows the precepts Jesus asked us to follow? That the Vatican which owns multi billion dollar real estate portfolio while millions starve under their spiritual leadership is following Jesus?

if History challenges your faith, the issue is with you. History reinforces my Faith, and the teachings Jesus left us.

We too pray..in our homes, in our churches...Wicca is a legal religion and yes we have churches. I am wondering.....you people do know that Jesus was a jew...dark skinned, dark eyes, short hair and that he didn't want to start a new religion, others did that after his death. All of his teachings and parables and lessons were created to try and get Judaism back to the peaceful laws of god.

You've been smoking crack,,,, name one president that was atheist. This country has held on to it's Christian roots until the late 60's when fruits like you wanted to do anything they wanted to and decided the Bible was a load of crap because it said they could not do what they wanted to and get away with it. You all sound like a couple of kids whose parents have left home for the weekend and are talking yourselves into anything. Our country is becoming so crime ridden and aweful because of people like you who have tossed asside the teachings of our fathers and adopted a new set of rules, a set with no respnosibility.

Pat Robertson is like PETA to me. I believe that many of the things he says are good things. The way he goes about saying them, makes me not listen to him

Nothing infuriates me more than his perversion of God's words. Example: God has said in the bible that if you give, you will receive 3x's that in reward.

Pat Robertson has made that into "IF you give to the 700 club, you will recieve 3xs that sum in cash. A perfect way to get out of debt!!"

So very very wrong. God isn't saying he is going to give you cash back. The discover card may, but God's rewards may be in just simply being blessed. Not cash!!

I did not say that wiccans do not pray. I was answering where it was said that No one sees Christians praying in public, but I certainly have.

Yes, I realize that Jesus was a Jew and was middle eastern. How can one NOT know that?? That is why he is called the "King of Jews" There is not debate over whether he looked like Malibu Ken or not

I agree with stating your points, hell, i agree with you on what you say, but please, lets not turn this into a blood bath, keep away from words like 'fruits'.

Deny Ignorance. And right now you are being ignorant.. I am expecting an appology as i am sure everyone else here expects one too.

Christianity is not illegal in this country, but I do believe that Witchcraft still is in most places. I know a place in Memphis TN where a few years ago a woman was practicing witchcraft and was ran out of town and the building was burned down.
I do not believe that has happened to a Christian facility in this country yet.

I don't believe witchcraft is illegal, nor should it be. This country is founded on Freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM it. Our forefathers came here(not just the consitution authors) to escape from persecution of religion. There was only one way to worship in England or you could be killed.

I also do not believe that this country was founded by atheists. They may not have been baptists ,but they had religion. Here is a source to support that:

Wrong again....Wicca was recognized as a legal religion by the United States ALL of the united states. It's done. Stop discriminating and educate yourself about what this country was founded on - the freedom to practice your religion. Tenn has one of hte most concentrated populations of witches in hte nation. Witchcraft became legal in England in 1951 and in Italy in 1981. It became a recognized religious belief in the United States in 1986,....
