Finally a launch I went up for that wasn't scrubbed.




Also took advantage of the nice weather to head down to the beach across from Patrick AFB. Usually when I go by it's pretty tame, but they were actually doing some flying. Had a P-3 doing take offs and landings, some Blackhawks doing what looked like autorotation practice and some beach fly-bys. Lots of Hercs on the pad too, usually only a couple there.

Went to Hangar's Beach yesterday. Not a lot going on. They took this HC-130 up with a downwind take off on 21, did a wide pattern, and came back down on a downwind landing.

Almost as much fun as we had yesterday. There was a fire south of us, so we had a Bae 146, and two MD-87s going back and forth right past the house. Then had our random RAIDR from Fort Worth to Yuma go overhead.

Went to DM a couple weeks ago trying to catch Red Flag Rescue, but they didn't launch until after I left. Pissed me off because the Columbians and French were there. Did catch an OC-135 going into AMARG though.

Made it up for another launch that didn't scrub! Of course, had a busy morning and forgot to grab the DSLR on the way out the door. 🙃




Following that we went down to Patrick SFB (they even had the signage updated!) for some beach time. Had one of the HC-130s doing maneuvers, a couple Blackhawks too. Also got treated to a single F-15 departing when we pulled up to the lot. Any idea what the pod under the wing is? Was thinking it's one of the dummy loads for luggage.

It's a simulated weapon of some kind. I can't tell from the pic though. It looks like it has fins on the back. Travel pods don't have fins. Similar shape though.
