So...looks like ole Bernie got SOMETHING out of his presidential run.....or out of his fawning speech supporting The Great Democrat, HRC.

I think this is three homes he now owns. That's pretty good for an old geezer that never drew a paycheck till he was 40 and has worked in "public service" since.

Gotta love these political hijinks! The masses were fooled again!

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is the proud new owner of a summer home in the Champlain Islands, Seven Days has confirmed.

The Burlington resident last week plopped down nearly $600,000 on a lakefront camp in North Hero.

Sanders’ new crib has four bedrooms and 500 feet of Lake Champlain beachfront on the east side of the island — facing Vermont, not New York. The Bern will keep his home in Burlington and use the new camp seasonally.

A conservative telling someone how they can spend their money. Don't see that everyday.

Not bad living for a career politician who hasn't accomplished squat in his whole time holding office!

I think you are missing the point.

No one is blaming Sanders for wanting to own several big houses. The problem isn't him buying 3 big houses....the problem is him running on a platform of socialism, and THEN buying 3 houses.

I think the story is that some guy that likes the idea of wealth redistribution and never worked in private industry has made a pretty nice living for himself...... and bought a pretty nice 'summer home' ( hint: some people just want a home ) right after he sold out and backed Hillary Clinton... the alleged antithesis of his raison d'etre.

He made chumps out of all of his followers.

Nowadays, ambition and greed draws people to run for 'office'.

It used to be service of, by and for the people, now its of, by and for the dollar. Even Bern knows though, that fiat currency isn't as good an investment as real estate.

I'm glad I could help. It only cost $27 a person.

WTF? It's a four-bedroom, 1,800 square foot house! They sold a house to be able to buy this one.

Feelin' the Bern, are we?

I think he was just careless and reckless when he decided to buy this house.

So what, he made investments like many of us and reaps the profits. This partisan whine fest is so lame. More votes for Clinton.....

Antique White House furnishings no doubt.

Appraised and certified genuine.

Is the age of 40 some kind of cutoff for when a person should have already accumulated personal wealth or something? Any personal wealth and/or assets acquired past that point must be a handout then? I find this to be both puzzling and completely illogical.

I know several people, including my own mother (who owns five large homes, two of them waterfront and worth a hell of a lot more than 600k), who did not acquire personal wealth until in their forties, nor have they ever accepted a handout from anyone or won a prize to facilitate their success.

Perhaps this rule only applies to politicians? Is it party specific too, or does that particular crayon color everyone the same?

Amazing how those leading the parade on climate change issues have the biggest carbon foot prints on the planet. Recycling to them means buying plush homes for sale all over the country.

The guy must have a million dollars wrapped up in houses. That sounds just like a one percent capitalist pig.
Hope his supporters feel the bern.

Suuure they did. It is three houses they now own...including this 4-bedroom summer home with 500' of lakefront property.

The Sanders also own a row house on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and a house in Burlington’s New North End.

Really?

So the guy buys an AVERAGE priced house in that market and suddenly he's all bad and stuff?

Jesus, forgive him for buying a house, I didn't know that automatically made you a shill.

Some people, complain about anything or anybody for some partisan kicks.

What a non story.
