Why are you talking about Benghazi, Clinton, and emails in this thread? It has nothing to do with Trump speechwriters plaguerizing Obama speechwriters. It just shows how desperate you are.

As opposed to the post I responded to?

"there would be 9 congressional hearings and a threat to put her in prison....."

Don't let your emotional bias get the best of you.

If this was a college essay, Mrs Trump would have received a "F" and probably suspended if not expelled, for plagiarism. It failed the computer test.

It wasn't. It was a fantastic 17 minute speech where she had four sentences, or roughly 20 seconds, where she said something close to what Michelle Obama said, which was close to what Laura Bush said.

"fantastic speech" lol hilarious hardly.

so hilarious! i bet trump feels so stupid and you would think that with all of that money he could find some better writers(LIARS) to prepare a speech for his lovely wife...

i bet he wishes he picked a smarter one. i bet there are about 2 marbles rolling around in that head of hers

If the speech writer that wrote Michelle's speech is the same speech writer that wrote Melania's, is it plagarism? Do we know the names of the speech writers yet?

... the Trump campaign itself admits they "borrowed fragments"...but you declare it "Conjecture"

Show me this admission of "borrowed fragments" and I will concede that point. But if your evidence of plagiarism is a few platitudinal lines, where coincidence, sabateurs, or Cryptomnesia .........

In a statement released hours after the speech, Jason Miller, the campaign adviser, was vague about how it was crafted.

“In writing her beautiful speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking,”

Another adviser to Mr. Trump, who has assisted in the drafting of some of his speeches, acknowledged that Ms. Trump used words that were not her own. “I’m sure what happened is the person who was helping write this plucked something in there and probably an unfortunate oversight

Oh so we're down to counting seconds now? It's only baby plagiarism as it was only 60 seconds? A misdemeanor instead of a felony?

No.

Yeah. 20 seconds where she said something similar to another speech that wasn't copyrighted or written by Michelle Obama, but read aloud. 20 seconds out of 17 minutes. You need to find some higher priorities.

Wow 29 pages of this? This is like jingling keys in front of a baby to distract them from what's really happing.

Apparently. I'd be more troubled if I thought Melania didn't mean what she said. I'm certainly convinced Michelle was just giving lips service platitudes, her behavior as FLOTUS convinces me she was just being a bobblehead.

Meanwhile, no word from Rob Marsh yet...

Campaign has named 3 contract speechwriters outside the campaign who wrote Melania's speech, but they all claim that the speech she gave looked nothing like the one they wrote for her.

Just heard this on MSNBC.

Interesting...

Twoenty seconds of such a "similar" musical refrain will cost a producer millions.

I doubt it's true, but even if those couple of cliche clauses were taken from Michelle's speech by Melania's speech writers, what do you want to do? You sound so vicious! Would it make you feel better if we cut her tongue out and hang it on a stake at the DNC so they can dance around like fools and point at it? Or, how about a few days in jail.

They'd rather the 20 second "sound alike" part of her speech be a disqualifier for Trump to run as president. It's him they fear.

I didn't count the actual number of sentences, so I'll trust you that it was 4 unless someone gives evidence that it was more. My personal opinion is mixed. I've used similar phrases myself BUT, I will admit the words were VERY similar. As to whether she wrote parts of the speech ... again my opinion ... she probably was given a consultant/speech writer. She gave them an overall idea of her thoughts and the speech was written for her incorporating some of her ideas. Her first language is not English obviously. When she speaks 'off the cuff' the grammar shows. Without going back to listen to the whole speech again, I don't recall the obvious grammar errors. So, no. I don't think she wrote it. Contributed ideas ... yes. All in all it was a great speech but, yes there were obvious parallels in wording in those 4 sentences.

Seriously? I am not even a Trump supporter, but Melania Trump is an extremely intelligent woman. I can only fathom that you are ignorant by not doing enough research. This lady does have brains. Look past any stereotyping and deny ignorance.

?

Included fragments, borrowed fragments...I'm not seeing any substantive difference.

Plagiarism is a big deal.

How big a deal is it?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal'-just words. Just words. 'We have nothing to fear but fear itself'-just words. 'Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country'-just words. 'I have a dream'-just words," Patrick said in 2006.

"Don't tell me words don't matter! 'I have a dream.' Just words. 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.' Just words. 'We have nothing to fear but fear itself.' Just words, just speeches," Obama said in his 2008 speech.

Kind of overlooked who Patrick ripped off huh? Like Churchill, Kennedy and MLK.
