I didn't know the speech was supposedly the intellectual property of an academic or artist infringing on academic credit or profit. Copycatting yes, plagiarism not so much. Unless Michelle is the sole intellectual owner of the concepts of values and hardwork.

God damn man. This is hilarious watching the cult squirm about. No ethics whatsoever. No one would be so stupid as to do this, but the same people who would never plaguerize in their own lives keep coming back like this is acceptable just because they can't admit that they're wrong. It's not acceptable to plaguerize, ever.

Definitely not voting for Trump. He can't even punish someone for fraud. I'm serious when I say that junior high teachers hold their students to higher standards than the prospective president holds his own people to.

A true sign of weakness. I can't stand weak cowards.

Ok, so nothing new. What's your advice on what to do next? You wanna remove the 20 seconds she spent telling us the same thing every other First Lady since Nancy Reagan has told us since Melania is married to Donald Trump? Would you like to skip all of that and totally remove the other 16 minutes and 40 seconds of her speech? Let's silence her free speech, yeah, how about that? Will that satisfy you? The amount of bitching I've witnessed over this is incredibly astonishing.

You people trying to cut this lovely lady to shreds are unconcionable.

Then she should have kept her ass at home and out of politics shouldn't she? The minute she stepped into the limelight she stepped into the cross-hairs of her husbands political opponents.

As far as Melania's writing her own speech it's possible she wrote it. She sat down listened to Michelle's speech then wrote down what her tiny little brain could remember. As a lawyer Michelle has the brains to write her own speech but Melania? Well it doesn't take much brains to work in porn or to just stand there and get your picture taken now does it?

Oh, brother! Get a grip. It is not a proven fact that the cliche clauses were plagerized. If a speech writer did that on purpose, then deal with that. But, stop maligning Melania. She doesn't deserve this.

It's kind of a big deal

Plagiarism is a big deal.

How big a deal is it?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal'-just words. Just words. 'We have nothing to fear but fear itself'-just words. 'Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country'-just words. 'I have a dream'-just words," Patrick said in 2006.

"Don't tell me words don't matter! 'I have a dream.' Just words. 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.' Just words. 'We have nothing to fear but fear itself.' Just words, just speeches," Obama said in his 2008 speech.

Trump's beloved 'Poorly Educated' won't understand what plagiarism is, anyway.

With all the problems facing us, this is important somehow?

Amazing!

It's a sad time in our history when something like this is even considered newsworthy or relevant to the elections.

Sigh

It kinda is. The speech failed the specialized plagiarism detector test, whose results are good enough for court evidence and for universities to expel students and faculty members whose writings fail the test.

It's a matter of character and integrity.

That doesn't matter?

You'd have the same thoughts if it was someone else?

Say Chelsea Clinton?

Typical statement, and one I disagree with. If not taught in secondary school, it is definitely drilled into you in college Freshman english classes. I think most people understand it perfectly, and most people understand what this is all about.

The funny part is that it's 2 sentences in a 17 minute speech.

no it isn't...

You're right, it was four sentences. Or about 20 seconds. Of a 15 to 17 minute speech.

Lol, this is absolutely the MOST desperate grab I've seen by the left so far.

This is what I was just thinking. I was seeing everywhere that she copied the speech and after looking for myself instead of at internet memes that wasn't even the case. 17 minutes long and they pick that small part out.

So, if a person only steals a tube of lipstick, rather than a complete makeup kit, that's a lesser shoplifting charge?
