If you are going to tell me that a 3 year old person, who eats boogers, talks to imaginary friends, believes in the tooth fairy, thinks magic is real....that they have established enough of a sense of reality and self, as to 'help' them 'transition' into another gender at their whim....you are irresponsible..
Is there an issue letting a 3 year old define themselves?
Letting a kid be who they are as a person - - - is not irresponsible parenting.
Allowing tantrums, rudeness, screaming No, physical abuse of other children, etc - - - that is bad parenting.
A three year old can say he identifies as a Jedi Knight. It doesn't mean you teach him that he can use The Force to lift soda cans, jump 30 feet off of cliffs, or stop cars.
Understand the difference?????????
You DO NOT teach a transgender child to be a gender different from their physical packaging.
THEY TELL YOU. They know.
What does any of that other stuff have to do with Gender Dyphoria?
I was convinced, from the age of 4-7 that I was half Monkey/half Cheetah.
I'm just not going to go there anymore.
Consider legitimate research.

So you've never had experience with a trans kid who was terribly unhappy with their body to the point of depression and suicide. You've never had a trans kid ask you when their penis would fall off so they could be the girl they knew they were. You've never had a trans kid withdraw from learning or playing with friends at school because they had given up being happy, after being told by you to just be happy with their body. You've never had a trans kid commit suicide because you refused to help them transition.
Because there are parents who have gone through all these situations with trans kids.

As I've said before, I know some transgender people personally, and their experiences with their parents. I've communicated with some of the parents. I know what they went through. I know what they did to try to stop it. Are you accusing them of lying?

Just as there are stories of REAL "Trans Children", there are also MANY stories of children trying on "Transgender" roles as a PHASE. Meaning, a temporary feeling or thought.

new_here, Kaylaluv and Annee know what they're talking about. They have my certified seal of approval. I've been reading, studying and researching everything there is to know about this for at least 47 years or more. Oh yeah, I was a transgender child, have changed sex and do also kind of know what I'm talking about.
BatheInTheFountain, thank you for proving the consistency in my theory that at least one, if not several people bring up wanting to be a horse, TMNT, Jedi, tiger, etc. when they were kids. This indicates lack of knowledge or any real understanding of this subject at all. Thanks!

If our society becomes one where we conform to the whims and wishes, at every turn, to people who represent a small subset of our entire population, we are doomed. There's no reason to go on because we will fall apart.

I'm sorry, but that's just laughable.
Those making all the fuss are the Fundie religious.
They are the ones who want to control and force everyone to live by their rules.
Respecting and accepting differences in people should not be made into a Big Issue as the Fundie's make it out to be.

Hyperbole much?
Having some consideration and not intentionally taunting and bullying others for being different is not going to destroy the world.

The guidelines don't apply to innocent mistakes. It applies to willful, mean spirited refusals to address the trans kids properly, in an attempt to demean and belittle.
All hormone blockers do is put the physical changes of puberty on hold for a few years.
