I'm talking about blacks because the OP is about racist comments people were posting about a black girl!!!!! It's what this thread is about!!!

Yes, yes, there are successful black people in this country. Yes, there are white people who have no intention of being racist towards black people (or any other group).

My point was, it's hard to ignore the hateful stuff people write because they lead to hateful actions. My point was, no one can deny that racism exists against blacks today, because it does - and it's not a tiny little bit. It's large enough that we should at least realize that it's a problem.

Did I say that people should be punished for what they say over the Internet? No, I did not. I said that words can be powerful. I said that anyone who denies that racism against blacks exists in America is full of it.

It's called trolling. People do it because they understand the superstition people have towards words. They know others will comment on it, get upset about it, get motivated by it, or in this case, write a thread about it.

All slaves should be included. Sorry, but there was a slave trade. What makes it worse is there own people also sold them alongside Africans. Just like Africans did. They sold out their own.

I am sure that none of those slav...I mean, indentured servants never died either.

As far as the link, sorry, I should have proofread it. It should have said James I. Looks like a typo. However, it did happen. No matter how much people want to say one is worse than the other, sorry, they were all slaves.

Black slaves were also more expensive. Maybe we should complain about that too....

I'm willing to bet the farm that it was a bunch of black kids making those comments. Fake racism has become a trend now in case ya'll haven't noticed.

Yeah but that's only one metric and fails to take into account the world wide recession that Obama inherited.

Is there any Obama criticism that you don't try to excuse either via "blame the predecessor," "blame the 'obstructionist Congress" (which is cute, considering Boehner et al offered token resistance before bending at the waist for Obama on virtually every issue), or "blame racism?" How did America's current president become only the second perfect man to walk the Earth?

No, I mean I can have a reasonable discussion with you and even agree on some of your points. For me, it's not all blame the predecessor or blame congress.

However, any reasonable discussion of the economy has to start with world wide recession before Obama took office. That's not blaming bush, just keeping the discussion honest. There is so much propaganda both left and right out there that it can be hard to see what's really going on, that's why discussing one metric like Job growth over an 8 year period is hard to pinpoint as being good or bad or neither.

There is a very long, complicated, violent, hateful history in America when it comes to black people, that doesn't really exist with any other group. You cannot deny this. You cannot deny that those feelings still exist in this country. Regardless of the word used, the hate is still there. The word is simply used to communicate the hate. And where there's hate, there is usually a hateful action coming close behind.

I dont disagree that black people had it hard for generations in the US from the slave trade, and right up till the 60s.
And Affirmative action for integration was absolutely needed to restructure.

But now..today...2016, division is coming far more from people demanding black people are inherently victims in the US. When you flat out tell someone the deck is stacked against them, they will try less, they will accept the identity of victim, and lose hope.

People in the west today have no legal barriers to achieve what they try to achieve..well, outside of dumb luck, nepotism, etc anyhow, but nothing holds you back from trying except yourself
and the longer you demand some invisible force of institutional racism, sexism, ageism, etc is holding you back, the less you will accomplish.

History is that..its history..not present. blacks, native americans, or anyone else is not in danger of suddenly losing their right to vote or equal access to water fountains.
..not by law anyhow..however...

You are not a victim of your skin unless you want to be
You are not weak because of your skin unless you want to be
Racism is a tool used by people with inferior minds, or agendas...anyone demanding you are anything or in need of any special treatment (better or worse) because of your skin in todays america is a racist.

Just remember this before you sigh and wonder what's wrong with people. These are the issues people vote on and what they actually think going into the ballot box.

Then people wonder why I don't agree with the concept of 1 person, 1 vote.

Can someone here tell me how they know who made those comments? How do we know some left wingers didn't bomb the site with these comments? Sort of like left wingers showing up to Trump rallies in KKK gear.

Of course it doesn't matter, because the story is serving it's purpose. Forget the fact there is ZERO evidence these comments were made by racist republicans.

Well she is related to Obama and there is a lot of anger right now towards his failed Presidency. Taking it out on his daughter is extreme, but I understand displaced anger. My wife gets angry at me after a hard day at work out of convenience.

True. In admitting that we also have to admit that it is also possible that the comments could have been made by racist Republicans.

Would you be willing to admit that?

I understand that, but by virtually every metric, this has been the slowest recovery from a recession this country has seen.
www.cleveland.com...
www.forbes.com...
lh5.googleusercontent.com... 4Eh1_Rz087Klf6h-WD8N

This anemic growth has happened in the face of extraordinary measures being taken by the Federal Reserve to push GDP growth into positive territory. That price has been paid by you and I, experiencing inflation at the register while the average American has seen next to no wage increases. (don't even get me started on the economic impact to the masses as a result of the ACA).

Is Obama the one who has made all of the decisions that factor in here? Absolutely not. However, when you sit in the big chair, you accept ultimate responsibility. "Heavy is the head that wears the crown" may have been born from Shakespeare, but it was taken from reality... the individual ruling over it all not only deserves the credit for victories, but MUST be held to blame for defeats. That's been missing in politics lately... way too many worshipers give a free pass to "their guy" when said guy craps the bed, while hoisting him onto their shoulders when he makes it to the can on time. It's a political parody of the TARP bailouts in which we're allowing politicians to privatize the glory while socializing the suck.

Right, because there has never been any racist acts from white students towards black students on any college campus. Because there has never been a white racist cop who treated a black person unfairly. Because no store owner has ever falsely accused a black man of stealing or shoplifting simply because he's black. No one has ever called the cops because a black person was simply walking down the streets of their "white" neighborhood.

Those things never happen today in America.

Yes, but there is no way of knowing which makes this story completely useless as anything other than propaganda.

What is your point exactly? Human beings all have potential to be racist. Barack Obama spoke at a La Raza conference last year and La Raza is basically a brown supremacist organization. Democrats openly support BLM, a group which has called for racial segregation, racial violence, and has actually taken part in racist attacks on innocent white people. I don't hear the likes of you taking issue with any of it.

My point is that I have read people's posts on this very site that claim racism against blacks doesn't exist anymore. It DOES exist, and not just in tiny little pockets that don't matter.

I used to get pulled over and shaken down in the 'black' area of town in St Pete Florida growing up all the time. You had to go through a bad part to get to some of the southside areas. I had long hair. Always tossed the car. It is ALL people that are profiled, not just blacks. I fit a pot smokers profile. I was driving black friends home at 1 AM after work. Never thought twice or said F the police....

Now, If a white guy in a polo is in a known crack area at 3 AM what do you think he is doing? Just like if a 'teenager', any race, is out at 3 AM in a gated community....what are they doing? Could be nothing but that is why cops are there...to check it out.

The racism argument in the US is so sad, really it is. All races experience this. There are always going to be people that hate...that is just a sad part of our society. Our job is to ignore them and make it a better place...for everyone.
