Sorry. But you've yet to show a fundamental understanding of either the article or the Constitution. You've had many pages to prove otherwise. And you haven't.

I don't believe a single contributor to this thread thinks you have demonstrated an understanding of what you read.

You may actually understand it. But you're just "playing dumb" for reasons of your own. Or you may not have the ability to understand it for some reason.

But, whatever the reason, your points (valid or not) will fall on deaf ears until you show a basic understanding of the article.

Still, I would argue that this thread NEEDS to be moved to the Hoax Forum. Or closed. If the Mods choose to enforce neither of those options. Then, at the very least, the thread title should be changed.

Can you individually point out parts of the article that misread with quotes and my exact quote of how I misunderstood it?

Why are we counting illegal immigrants

In Texas, and other states with large immigrant populations, urban districts include many more people who are too young, not citizens or otherwise ineligible to vote

Well, honestly.......if you think about it........citizenship in the US only value is that of a work permit which of course comes along with the obligation to pay taxes.

That's why I've come to think the US is really less the classical "nation state" than it is really nothing more than a Taxing Jurisdiction. And increasingly, its a Taxing Jurisdiction without borders.

And the ability to own property too though right?

Which is a fundamental part of our economy and country.

Can illegals own property?

We should renounce citizenship, and just stay.

Stop paying taxes.

Work for cash and be done with it.

Have one person in each family be a citizen. The rest work to keep what they earn.

The oldest be a citizen and retired, own the property and what not....get senior citizen perks....and we all laugh all the way to pay day.

That's what I proposed in a previous thread recently.

I came to this realization after befriending many illegals to better understand them and why they are hear and what they go through.

I think having the option of coming here or working to make their country better has negatively impact the planet by enabling their failed systems like a drug addict.

No Chicken Little, the sky isn't falling.

Based on the o.p.'s misinterpretation of this story alone, this thread belongs in the hoax can.

Illegals will not soon be voting. The article says the unconstitutional changes would "disproportionately affect the nations growing Latino population" its referring to our growing legal Latino population. Even if you don't like it, if they're legal they're just as American as anyone else.

A couple conservatives didn't understand that representatives represent all of their constituency, not just those that vote/voted for them. The supreme court rulled unanimously that the proposed change was unconstitutional. Your party has a problem, but future history books will likely not look kindly on resorting to voter suppression and unconstitutional antics like these. The world is changing and no amount of gerrymandering or voter supression is going to make the future look like the 1950's.

Foreigners can own property in the US.
Illegals are foreigners.

Good idea. The fact it develops on its own is a sign that many would follow suit if push came to shove.

Its an option on my table. Seriously. If it gets bad, I will have no citizenship.

They are counting total populations which means they are counting illegals which means the article is referring to illegal Latinos and not legal Latinos.

Common sense says that first we count them and then they vote I think it's a logically drawn conclusion.

How can you own property without a tax I'd and proper identification?

That's an interesting question and I'm something of a Property Law expert.

I'll parse through the legal logic on that but................I don't know what would be to stop them. I mean, think about it, lots of Venzuelans I know own real estate in Miami. One is a personal friend of mine, a Urologist who has a medical practice in Caracas.

You know.........the only reason those who enter illegally are picked up is usually because they break a law. There's nothing stopping them from entering, openning a bank account..........writing a check to buy 60 acres of land in West Texas.....or Wyoming and opening a terrorist training camp. They'd only get noticed if they didn't pay taxes.

I'm assuming from one's own country. Chinese buy property in the US, as do many Canadians. I'm assuming other foreigners (maybe Mexicans with money) can too.

How do you open a bank account without a birth certificate?

How do you get an Id without a social security card or birth certificate?

How can you be taxed without a social security number?

Don't know. First step would be a real estate agent and a lawyer specializing in real estate.

Why would a person need a tax id (I assume as in income tax) to own property? An ID? mabe to sell it, as proof of you to sign documents.

They have to pay taxes on the property regardless of if they're foreign or not.
