I mean, how much would it cost to save the Earth?

Who cares?
It is what it is.
We have no choice. Except, of course, to poison our kids and grandkids, all of the plants and animals on land as well as the ocean-dwellers....and cause an extinction level event/series of events to occur with no remorse. If you want......
We can cause one, or two, or three, or four. Or more than that....until every living thing is dead.
You're okay with that?
"Cost" is ink on paper - nothing more. The planet is a living thing - and all the living things upon it don't really care about digital numbers of bank accounts, Wall Street, and ink on paper that we call "money." Only greedy humans.

Funny how not how disagreeing with something and not wanting to be taxed to hell equates to wanting the planet and every one on it to die.

That's the thing that gets me on this issue.
If it's for the planet, then do it. But when was the last time the government gave a damn about how we felt about something before spending trillions to fix it?

A solar power plant at the center of the Obama administration’s push to reduce America’s carbon footprint by using millions of taxpayer dollars to promote green energy has its own carbon pollution problem.
The Ivanpah plant in the Mojave Desert uses natural gas as a supplementary fuel. Data from the California Energy Commission show that the plant burned enough natural gas in 2014 – its first year of operation – to emit more than 46,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide.
Arguing with the man made climate change crowd is like trying to get Westboro Baptist to host a gay wedding. You'll just drive yourself crazy.

DB, do you pay federal income taxes? I'm assuming....yes.
Then, whether you wanted to or not, you have put money in the plate of the Church of Climatology.
They took it and gave it to Google, NRG, Solyndra, and here is a list of other crony green energy companies that have failed or are faltering all on taxpayer subsidies:

But, remember, the guys running these failures got their big paychecks anyway, failing or not, not to mention all the tax bennies, and I'll bet a lot of it went back into donations to their fav politician.
