You think since I don't believe, that I will be responsible for the death of a planet?

I did not say that. What I said is that you refuse to understand basic scientific principles because of your politics.

That is stupid. No better word to use, I'm afraid.

Screw Bernie and screw Trump. If you cannot grasp basic mathematics and scientific principle, then screw you.

You sure are sad a lot. I recommend you go for an evening of tango dancing.

One cannot set aside politics. Politicians are always grabbing for our pocketbooks to fund their idiotic half-baked "scientifically" backed business ventures based on statistics that have different scientists interpreting them differently.

What we need, is for you and the others to set aside your religious fanaticism to understand the way politicians operate.

Why go dancing when I am a classically-trained guitar player?

People pay me to play for them while they dance.

I've a much better understanding of science than you might think.

But worship, believe as you see fit.

I still don't see why there needs to be a consensus.

Science doesn't need a consensus. The numbers tell it all.

The fact that scientists have a consensus is irrelevant in the end.

Look at the data.

Sad, tango references are more important than real scientific data that affect the entire globe.

What I'm asking (perhaps I'm not explaining myself clearly) is why so many climate change people require others to believe the same way as they do?

I never saw the logic in obtaining a consensus before acting on something you obviously feel is so important.

The great orange one doesn't believe in climate change, even though there is science behind it, yeah even more proof he is an idiot or just saying what the idiot constituents want him to say.

Of course the other side has their scientists bought and paid for, so of course they use those paid scientists as proof of no climate change or they point to snow and say "see climate change is a hoax"..lol

As much as you keep pointing this out, intro will not let your point sink in. I am so very glad you keep reiterating this point. I have never really put much thought into your statement, but now I see the angle you present. I used to subscribe to the, first greenhouse gas theory, then global warming, now global climate change until recently when I decided to actually stop listening to just the one side (lefty) and stop ridiculing the "righty" side and actually listen to both sides objectively. I remember the snowball demonstration and how that meant global warming was a hoax. I laughed and thought "stupid republicans, bought and paid for by big oil". I lived and worked in Tahoe and saw the snow levels shrink for several years, and was convinced we were doomed. But this winter has brought the water levels back to almost normal levels. I was told by long time Tahoe residents that this kind of weather happens and not to get alarmed.
So I youtubed "when did global warming become a thing" or something like that. And I came up with the video I posted a few pages back, which did answer introverts questions but I don't think he watched the video.

youtu.be...

I reposted the link incase anyone is interested in the video. It's interesting to see the history of the "church of climatology". (Love that term).

I still remember the doom porn of "acid rain" and hair spray causing green house gases that will lead to the ozone being eroded which will cause us all to burn from the Suns radiation. Glad I use spf50 when I go out in the sun.

When has there not been climate change? Remember the ice age? This is nothing new and its just a way to tax you for carbon emissions. Its just a cycle of the Earth.

Global cooling/Global warming/Climate change/ carbon imperialism is a big time scam in my book. Kind of reminds me of how lead in paint and children's toys used to have a consensus on how it was not harmful.

No flag for you.
And no star.

Nevertheless, I am skeptical about 'radon' and 'mold' and 'lead in paint'.....our parents survived living in lead-paint-covered homes. But the lead in the drinking water thing is pretty awful.......

the air is being polluted so badly that the Chinese city-dwellers have to wear face masks............pollution caused by unregulated INDUSTRY, not by nature.

Still, facts being what they are: Climate Change is NOT a 'big scam.'
Human activity is definitely contributing. My main concerns are the pollution of the rivers and oceans, the deforestation of natural forests and jungles, the earth-quake-inducing fracking, and spill-prone (therefore poisonous) oil drilling, the strip-mining and burning of coal and other unclean fossil fuels.

Not Okay.

Not. Okay.

It is a natural cycle, and our activites are exacerbating it. We need to face that fact. Profits be damned. When the well turns poisonous, it's time to rethink the method.
Do you not care about the planet?

Sincerely,
your friendly ATS tree-hugger

What a pseudo, if not preposterous argument. Because you feel that climate change is a scam does not mean you do not care for the planet. You speak of how China is so bad, yet, many cities here in the US were just as bad some 50 years ago but have cleaned up very nicely.

Heck, the Cuyahoga River self combust'ed do to all the chemicals US manufacturing was pumping into and there was no life to be found for miles upon miles of this river, yet, it has recovered very nicely!.

You do realize that the earth has been warming since the little ice age? And you also recall (threw studies of course) that during the Pangaea era, the planet was MUCH warmer with absolutely no ice on it, yet, life we beyond prosperous.

We still have NO idea what our position in the Milky Way galaxy does to our immediate solar systems as we orbit our black hole. We are still imbeciles when it comes to knowledge of the galaxy.

With that being said, did you stop driving or taking public transportation? If you truly loved the planet, you'd lead by example and stop using items that contribute to global warming rather than being a keyboard pirate telling people how evil they are!

Your friendly ATS Capitalist!

I watched most of it....so, Thank You. (I will finish it later in the afternoon when I have more time.)

None of that has a damn thing to do with how much we are POLLUTING the planet - thanks to capitalist fossil-fuel addiction.
Whether it is a natural cycle or not, we are not helping the situation!

There is more PLASTIC in the oceans now than there are living things.
Dumping sludge into our fresh-water sources and allowing oil spills and earthquake-causing fracking and polluting the oceans and air, as well as deforestation is idiotic, irresponsible, selfish, and unconscionable.
Bees are disappearing (which means CROPS WILL NOT FLOURISH)....Monarch butterflies are also disappearing (not that you care, but without butterflies and bees and other pollenators we will ALL DIE).

Preposterous argument indeed. Do your damn part. Reuse, recycle, reclaim, repurpose, and STOP dumping your toxic waste.

"Climate change deniers" are impossibly, insufferably ignorant, stubborn, and neglectful. I walk and take public transportation whenever I can. I don't use pesticides or herbicides on my property. I am careful with my use of electricity. I separate organic from synthetic garbage, etc. I don't eat junk food, and I buy free-range and small-farm locally grown produce.

That's funny because "98%" of doctors for decades did say that ulcers were caused by poor diet and stress. And now, lo and behold...."New Doctrinal Light"!! It's a bacteria.

H. pylori bacteria (Helicobacter pylori ). Most ulcers are caused by an infection from a bacteria or germ called H. pylori. This bacteria hurts the mucus that protects the lining of your stomach and the first part of your small intestine (the duodenum). Stomach acid then gets through to the lining.

You sound like you want to introduce a "sharia" type law forcing your ways onto the rest of society. You think that because you do things a certain way, everyone else should. Just so you know, I do all of these same things as you do. I just don't shove it down people's throats and expect others to follow suit. I do it for myself and my myself alone. I don't care if others do or don't. That's on them, and not for you or me to judge.

NO. YOU DON'T.

And so, I don't give a rip about you or your opinions (or survival, either, I guess).

I used to. I used to care what happened to you as well as everyone you love; your kids, grandkids, yourselves, your beloveds....... Now - that caring is waning.........
I'm old enough to realize that some efforts are wasted on some people.
Do whatever. I don't care about you or your ilk anymore.

I have a Question for you . What would be a Real Solution to Solving this Alleged " Climate Change " , and the Cost of Solving it ? Killing ourselves because we Exist on this Planet to Save the Planet ? Going back to a less Environmentally Destructive Stone Age Civilization ? Collecting 999 Trillion Dollars in "Carbon Taxes " which in turn will somehow Stop Climate Change ? You can Preach All you want about it , but it is Still Beyond Humans Abillity Technologically to Completely Stop it from Happening . Maybe All we can do is take a Page from the Book of the Theory of Evolution and just ADAPT to it . Hmm....

I have seen those pictures before and they are heartbreaking. I don't think there is a person on the planet that thinks we should continue dumping waste and hazardous materials in our environment.

We should all be recycling.
We should all be doing our part.

Did you read the previous posts about how some of the wind farms are killing birds by the thousands and solar power companies are frying them in mid air. Some of these "green energy" endeavors are destroying natural habitats and ecological systems that have taken hundreds of years to develop.

What we should NOT be doing is lining the pockets of politicians and crony corporations that play with taxpayer dollars in the pretense that they are "green energy" advocates. Do some research. Look at the facts. Many, if not most, of these companies have a bigger carbon footprint than that which they rail against.

So much of it is a fake "green energy" movement to put money and tax bennies in the hands of donor capitalists in the pretense of renewable energy policies.

We either have stupid ignorant idiots that don't see beyond the ends of their noses, or their science is faulty.

That is all most people that oppose The Church of Climatology are saying. "Quit using us, the taxpayers, and quit using skewed data, and quit lining pockets of pretenders." I'm done with those people and their ilk!
