There's a big difference between content a site owner and their employee's produce, and content that is crowd sourced from the viewers.

i wouldnt pay anything. why pay when there are plenty of sites out there for free

This is for an ad-free experience. Why do so many people seem to think that it's payment for site access?

When considering whether to donate to a privately owned discussion forum, I'd cast my mind back to

Why ask when you can add a closed forum feature and allow for certain taboo discussions available for paid members and BAM you still generate add revenue while also offering a step up add free experience.

Simple.

In this members only forum section you also release custom content to offer an incentive. At this point you have an actual network instead of a website.

Seems to me like you guys need help generating your own creative content and launching a digital platform for your audience.

What the point in waiting?

Don't forget modern advertising is not about offering a product it's about generating content. People are looking for alternatives.

yeeeeah... i'll just deal with the ads for now. i'm pretty adept at ignoring annoying crap. sorry, wouldn't really pay a monthly subscription. i'd rather just donate a chunk of money when i have the funds to spare.

Paying members (Privilege of the suggested dedicated forum and AD free)

Super Mods
With the owners running the show

I think the idea of an AD free site for those wishing to pay is fine
The idea of the paying members dedicated forum goes against the idea of equality
