What would you pay per-month for an Ad-Free ATS?

When you pay for something, the customer is always right. Money changes the dynamics of the relationship to one of a business. I can forsee people who have paid feeling like the t&cs will not apply to them.

Yeah the chat room helped keep old members active on ATS and sense of social community and a sense of annoying maniacs. But it should come back

Mr Overlord, I'm nots sure if I'd pay for a subscription, I'm happy with seeing ads so long as they don't take over my page and start playing sound, which they don't. But whatever it takes, I don't envy you trying to keep so many happy. You can't. But kudos on trying.

I wouldn't pay, as many others have mentioned your business survives with user content and you want the user to pay for the privilege !! ...Honestly i think you will lose customers and lose more potential customers by going down this road...

I'd need to know what it cost to keep ATS a float per month and how much its taking in before I'd be willing to pay a subscription. Just like church brothers, everything above board.
I'd rather put up with the adds honestly.

I personally don't mind the ads and won't be using Adblocker and the like.

I would pay $5.00/mo as long as the subscription was on a month-to-month basis. Not a fan of annual contracts.

Honestly, I will keep my for pay content restricted to television, movies and intellectual journals then. If this site wants pay so we can chat with strangers - then - Enjoy it with those willing to pay to talk to strangers.

$1 a month would be more than ATS makes off Ad revenue per member in a month. Asking for $5-10, that would be taking advantage of members. ATS already makes a ton of money off the content members post.

ATS has money to pay people to make youtube video
ATS has money to fund a studio in expensive New York City

Ask the CIA for more money.

I have to start with the fact that I proposed this a few years ago and wasn't met with much cooperation. Back then I would have paid maybe $20 per year, so i clicked the $2 per month. However much time has passed since then and I find I don't come to the site very often and post even less frequently. The ads were only one reason.

Another reason was the quality of the posting declined significantly. Going mainstream seemed to bring in many non thinkers. The forums were also supervised very poorly and with what seemed to be extreme prejudice. The site just became a cesspool of ignorance. I would not pay for the site any longer.

I believe the opportunity of succeeding with a single pay site is no longer viable. What is now needed is a completely different model that ATS cannot make work by themselves.

Thats not what i read....i read that you could opt out of ads by purchasing that. Or, alternately, you could continue with ads no problem

If you move to a subscription base, could you PLEASE bring back chat as well?

I wish to add to my suggestion this.

You cant stop ad block users. Probably shouldnt restrict them either for the benefit of traffic.

To add:

If one doesnt want to pay for ad free, and if one isnt of the member status to have no ads, and if one feels it is their right to block ads but still wants to visit,...

Then just have a persistant floating popup box when the adblockers are detected stating something like,..

If this is truely the case, you, we, have lost the battle. If you MUST put ads on this site so members can post, express their opinion, we have surely lost the battle.

I dont think this is the case! I think you acknowledge the fact that you are the biggest site on the web that discusses these far out theories, and even getting to the bottom of it. Actually killing the conspiraces, and by great argumentation support the facts to prove it. Things have been proven beyond any doubt, and things have been debunked beyond any doubt... by the members!

This is a great feat, by the members on this site. The Members! You have made a great site, but this Ad thing, will destroy you, imho. Members will think that you are only in it for the money, which are the first thing any debunker will use as argument.

Why not open a paypal account, bitcoins ? Open for donations? Im sure many will donate, me included!

I hope for the best future of ATS. I learned alot here.

1. This is a business. They are in it(partly) for the money. They've never said they weren't.

2. Ads have always been a part of the experience here, and how the site supports itself.

3. Look to the top of the page. There's a place you can donate. Been there quite some time now.
