I don't know what someone like Trump will bring to the table.

I do know what Sanders will bring. Trying to put lipstick on the pig of socialism isn't going to change socialism.

I've been "negative" only because I haven't been telling people what they want to hear. I finally decided to speak out and voice my opinion on a highly destructive move towards socialism.

So sue me.

Airplane food.
You don't really want the "chicken" or the "steak", but it's going to be a long flight.

I'd just stick with having cocktails.

But yes, you're right. I suppose it's like airplane food. They give you a couple choices, neither of which you want. But the fact is you can't just step out and get something else. What you are offered is what there is.

It's not the negative I take issue with. Hell, I'm negative about lot's of stuff. But what good is it to destroy something if you have nothing better to replace it with.

If you're going to try and get people away from Sanders you can't just destroy Sanders. You have to have some other choice for them to go with or what's the point. There is not an option for "None of the Above". It will be one of the above like it or not.

There are many unknowns.

What is known is that Sanders will bring about Socialist policies.

That's a given.

He would certainly try. But unless there is a big change in Congress...

And Cruz, what sort of policies?

More specifically there are "Known Unknowns, Unknown Unknowns, and Known Knowns". Unknown unknowns are supposed to be the worst ones.

According to Colbert there are also "Unknown Knowns". Which are the things we know but pretend not to know. Those can be nasty too.

That word has lost all meaning for me now......

Congress? Really? You honestly think congress is suddenly going to grow a spine and a collective brain and start representing their constituents?

Cruz? I haven't a clue.

Not relevant. If Bernie is going to make his desires law he needs the backing of Congress.

What congressman is going to turn down new taxes?

Hell, the republican congress has been green-lighting Obama's spending for the last 4 years.

I think weird is the new normal. So you can't win no matter what you do.

How in the world, will a Democrat President..fighting a majority Republican Congress and nationwide Republican MAJORITY Governorship...pass all that LAW?

But yet you're terrified of him, so who's the dumb one exactly?

I'm voting for Bernie with the hope that he gets elected and is only able to pass a Wall Street tax and maybe a little bit of banking/corporate reform or regulation. Everything else would be blocked by the GOP house for the next 7 years. That would be fine in my book.

How will this be done?

I keep asking yet NOBODY has an answer.

How come nobody who supports Bernie seems to have any answers to the HOW of it all?

How?

It's just weird.

I write an OP with 7 points in it, all open for discussion and contest....and nobody is even answering the dang POINTS.

I just hear..."He's better than Hillary" or "He cares about the country"...or "He's honest"

These aren't arguments of fact. These are just opinions which are subjective.

Is anyone gonna talk about the HOW if it all?

"He's gonna take on the Banks"

How? Presidents don't make law. Congress does. There isn't a Executive Order alive that he could even write to make it happen.

"He's for the Middle Class"

No...he isn't. Almost everything he suggests goes AGAINST that notion.

"He's gonna get the Corporations"

How? What LAW? Presidents can't just 'go after' something.

"He's an outsider"

No.....he is in fact NOT

"The 1%"

Who? Where? When? He's going to go after Corporations and give the money to WHO? What power does he have to distribute revenue? He's not even on any of the COMMITTEES that make that legislation.

"Free Education"? HOW? With what LAW? And with what money?

It's all ridiculous. He CANNOT do the things...he proposes.......to do. And even if he could....it would not work ECONOMICALLY.

I just don't get it.

All I hear is Banks, 1%, Corporations, Wealth, Education, Wages....and there is not one answer that even adds up.
Throw in an overnight AMNESTY of possibly 20 Million new "Citizens"....and all of this stuff goes out the door.

If he could do all these things, and got away with it, we would all be cracked economically overnight. You would have to tax everyone at a 40% rate or higher just for the revenue. LOL...this is crazy.

#1. Just because he's been in gov his whole life doesn't make him an insider. Not in the way it's being used. He just has the same job as many of them. When they call him an Outsider it's because he's the black sheep of his fellow members of gov. He fought his way in to the position he has against all odds and kept it by proving to people he can and would do what he said he'd do. He's not one of the Establishment Party Members.

#2. Not sure what the question is exactly but if it's how will he get it done with the opposition of Congress then I guess I'd have to say, I have no clue. Maybe he'll just try and talk them into it. Maybe he simply won't be able to do it. Who knows. But that's not really something to blame him for is it?? If that idea fails because congress won't even let him attempt it then it's the fault of congress not Sanders.

#5. I think he plans on investing in them by paying for their education and healthcare. But also by using the money raised for jobs here in infrastructure which we need. Raising the minimum wage over so many years, etc.

#6. Not sure what you're asking here either. What is the question regarding education here???

#7. Single payer I think is a better idea. Nobody likes Obamacare anyway and this way is much simpler and is what he wanted for a long time. No matter who get's in there, except maybe Hillary, they are going to revamp Obamacare anyway so Sanders plan is just going to be different than what others would be doing, but no matter who gets in they're going to change it.

#3 and #4. I'll have to do later as they require more than I'm willing to write right now.

Great thread! S & F! As far as Sanders goes, I'll say this. I mostly DO NOT agree with his ideas.....HOWEVER.....I do respect him for being constant in his political views.

That in it's self is very rare. All in all I think he's a good guy, I just don't agree with him.

I think that's how most people feel. Most everyone sees him as being honest in what he says he wants to do and knows he'll try to do them to the best of his ability. But nobody is certain he can do them.

They like his passion and trust his intentions. But doesn't know if that's going to matter when dealing with what we have for a system which is corrupt.

The respect him and are willing to give him a chance to lead, especially when looking at what else there is to choose from. Which is the main reason why I think people are for him, even those who don't know if he can do what he says or not. But the fact that we know he'll at least try is the best we have. Not one other person running can be trusted at their word to be honest about anything or to even give a sh*t about the people of this country if they aren't shoving money in their pocket. Every other one of them is owned by a small number of wealthy donors except Sanders. He's the only guy who genuinely gives a damn about the average people in this country.

Being that those are our choices it only leaves Sanders. Because nobody else is even a valid choice to begin with.
