Because that is really what we have. Wealth buys/lobbies/bribes whatever laws they want by purchasing the politicians to push them into law.

This is the inherent flaw in capitalism.
It consolidates wealth creating an oligarchy and maximizes efficiency which destroys jobs.
...and what do they do with that wealth? Build a money vault and swim in gold coins?

I find it odd that Sanders supporters are often complaining about money in politics, crony capitalism, etc but yet they see nothing wrong with supporting policies that increase the size and power of government which what enables all the crony capitalism they complain about.
