Actually I think a better term is Plutocracy. Or perhaps we should call it a "Plutocratic Oligarchy."

Because that is really what we have. Wealth buys/lobbies/bribes whatever laws they want by purchasing the politicians to push them into law.

Sorry EU, don't know how that quoted you, wasn't a response to you.

My candidate was Rand Paul. He was a close as you get today.

However, I am not looking myself into believing choosing an oligarchy over a guy who will not be able to pass his bills is a better choice.

I don't think socialism is great. Some things need to be socialized to a point but to me an ineffective president in power right now is the best thing we can hope for IMO. God forbid one of these so called conservatives get into power with a Republican Congress.

I just think Been may be able to bring attention to the fact that nothing will change if there is the money lobey structure there is now. That includes unions.

No I don't. And if you don't understand the terms read a book.

Oligarchy.

That means we have no control over policy.

How is that better?

You're describing the Obama administration. He was going to bring hope and change, remember?

Venezuelans were slaves to oil and then it crashed. Per usual, corps bring down nations and the citizens get blamed.

Well then its inevitable then isn't it?

This is the first guy in a long time who isn't paid for by an oligarch who keeps it all for himself.

This is the inherent flaw in capitalism.

It consolidates wealth creating an oligarchy and maximizes efficiency which destroys jobs.

...and what do they do with that wealth? Build a money vault and swim in gold coins?

Scrooge Mcduck style. I might at least have some respect for that just because of how epic it would be.

As it stands, all the money is nothing but numbers on a computer screen. One EMP attack & all those numbers are gone, potentially forever, yet we refuse to enforce or even redesign our grid in any way while spending trillions overseas.

I pray something like that happens sooner than later, or we take those numbers & put them on other people's computers, maybe the world would be a little bit better place. It would definitely stimulate the economy at least as people start spending those numbers.

I don't know, cronyism is defined as:

cro·ny·ism/ˈkrōnēˌizəm/
noun

the appointment of friends and associates to positions of authority, without proper regard to their qualifications.

It's not so much that they appoint their buddies into power although that happens too. They don't have to get anyone special into office to do their bidding. They simply buy whoever get's in there regardless of who they are.

And I didn't vote for Obama.

Corporations will not police themselves, thus why we have OSHA and the EPA, yet many on here are rooting for the corporations, and Romney says they are people too. They want nothing more than to rape the earth of the resources, and abuse their workers in order to maximize their bottom lines. Who was the f'n genius that made healthcare a for profit business, if you identify him, I will punch him in the throat.

Voting for Sanders will be the same as voting in Hillary or Bush.

The names and terms will be different, but the chains will be the same.

I find it odd that Sanders supporters are often complaining about money in politics, crony capitalism, etc but yet they see nothing wrong with supporting policies that increase the size and power of government which what enables all the crony capitalism they complain about.

Not even close.

Sanders is against wall street and corporate power. Clinton's entire base is wall st. and corporate power.

On many social issues they'll be the same but not on economic or foreign affairs.

So Sanders, alone, is going to take down Wall Street.

hahahahahaha

Sanders isn't Keanu and Wall Street isn't a bus with a bomb that will explode if it goes below 55.

Maybe if he gets Chuck Norris to help, but only then.

hahahahahahahaha

Because we hope that with him at the head of it he'll root out, remove or at least expose those who have been rigging the system both within Government and the Private Sector while he's there.

That's the only chance there is to stop it. You can't do it from down here where we are because we don't have positions of power. He will though at least to some degree.

If I remember right, I didn't vote for him either. His economic policies were a failure, and he wouldn't pass the conservative test today. The rich got richer, and the poor got poorer. Great f'n way to lead a country.

Because their big government and cronyism will be different, of course.

I don't know. I'm saying he's a super hero or a magician but if he can take down any of it that would still help. I'm not counting on a miracle or anything but he's the only one who will do something or at least try so what other choice is there??
