Nope. The Huns, the Vikings, the Germans... all of them defeated the locals at one point or another. The traditional strategy has been to flee, destroying farmsteads on the way. Eventually, winter sets in and the invading army decides it's not worth it. Read some history. Even Russian history books admit that their chief strategy is retreat, but they call it "defense in depth."

Why do you believe the story in the OP is true? If you do believe it is true, why do you believe that the thugs who were beating up the immigrants were telling the truth when they said the immigrants were harassing women? Do you think it is appropriate for policeman to take sides in a fight if they don't know who started it and why?

Glad to see other people in the world feel the same way. We all heard about what happened on new years in Germany. That is something I wouldn't stand for, screw the police if they won't stop it. I'm not the one cheering the idea of human beings getting beaten up. Civilized nations have laws, and it is the duty of the police to enforce them. Life doesn't play like an orderly text book of law. I'm wondering if you have lived even a day in your life. When the cold grip of death is upon you then you will wish you had for more reasons than one. The police can't be everywhere at once. You are fortunate or isolated enough from the real word to have ever needed them.

You seem obsessed with death. Anyway, the police don't need to be everywhere at once; thanks to mobile phone technology, it is possible for one person to call for help while others document the crime on video. These videos can be used as evidence in court. Obviously, people can defend themselves, but that does not appear to be what is happening in the OP. When the police arrived, they were supposed to break up the fight, not join in.
