If it mattered who we picked as president then I suppose at least trump would be the most amusing. But its not like votes matter now does it, and lets not forget about the electoral collage and all that, now what is that about? Who knows may have to go to collage to find out. Oh ya, if it were not for the fact that I already think that the whole of the human race is running borrowed time and eventually going for extinction baring anything you all do. Maybe this whole thing would matter.

But it doesn't, its simply there for #z and giggles, and trump is out to sell something again, that something being his image, the trump brand.

Who knows if he runs and plays along with the interests of the way the system is set up, then he just may become president. However I think he may be getting up there in age, were he may actually want to do something besides sell overpriced apartments and golf clubs to rich people and be a quest star on shows, he may actually think he has what it takes to run a country. Nah! probably in it for the free publicity and image selling, after all it may be all he knows, and at his age you cant teach old dogs new tricks.

Ah democracy, it was an interesting experiment while it lasted.

Wow really? A wall is the driving force behind your vote? Of all the problems that's what you're focused on? You're not afraid of Trump being Commander And Chief of our forces?

Building a wall is not worth for giving Trump that power alone.

Try this on, it might please you and make you rethink your vote.

More Mexicans Leaving Than Coming to the U.S.

But that aside, really, you're okay with giving this man this kind of power? DO you really think that is a good idea, and all for a freakin' wall?

We are free to fly anywhere, as long as you meet the specified standards set by the TSA and Homeland Security. It seems most of the regulations on travel to and from the US fall on to the American citizen more than it does the illegal immigrants that find a way regardless.

Sure you want to build a wall around this country?

Absolutely, nothing else seems to work.

The only wall I could go with is a wall of snipers. As the pace of border jumper decreases, so can the numbers of snipers.

Snipers? You know that families cross the boarder right so are you saying to kill men, women, and children? Even drug smugglers are usually just that, people running across the boarder with drugs but aren't violent. You want them shot on sight as well? Innocent people being killed, no judge, no jury, just put executioners on a wall to kill everything in sight?

I agree with everything you say about Trump and we can only hope.

If someone is hiring illegal aliens to do "highly skilled construction jobs" then they're going to have lawsuits on their hands if any of the work is done improperly.

I don't think you're going to be seeing illegal immigrant millwrights or crane operators on a work site. Sure, you may see scaffolders and general laborers, but you aren't going to be seeing illegals x-raying pipes or installing CO2 fire suppression systems on a refinery.

They're gonna do the crap jobs. They always do and yet people still hate them because they're not citizens.

You don't even need snipers. Just get those automated turrets they have at the Korean border. That way, there's no hesitation on part of the shooter.

I sure as hell haven't see a petroleum engineer loose his job to an illegal immigrant, or registered nurse. I haven't seen a teacher, lawyer, or anyone else loose their jobs either.

If an employer is willing to risk the legal ramifications of hiring an illegal to do your job, then your job isn't that important to your employer. Obviously the employer believes that the cost-savings in hiring someone illegally for less money is worth the risk.

So, instead of building a wall, how about we enforce, and make sure that in order to work in America you need to be legal? Wow, what a concept -- enforce labor laws?

Nah, it's easier to be scared of foreigners (who are actually leaving America more than entering these days) than actually enforce the laws here at home.

Trump Says "I Don't Send" Jobs "Overseas," But His Clothing Line Is Made In China

That's not exactly what he said, he does admit to having things made in Mexico and China but that's where the factories are, that's where the labor and materials are, etc. he went on to say he wants it all to move back to the USA.
He doesn't want things made over there not even his clothing line. Like every other company/brand most things are made in Mexico, China and the likes. We (America) can't afford to compete with other countries labor, materials, taxes - it rarely exist here anymore, if it does it's at a much higher cost. It's like a snowball effect, one went, then another, then 100 more and so on...until you basically have bare bone resources to work with as we do now.
Also factor in a generation or 2 of lazy, they want everything handed to them! If they do work they want crazy pay, so employers look to someone who will do the job, the Mexican's! And then those same people want to sit on a forum and complain about illegals took my job..it's a vicious cycle!

Sarcasm?

Or are you seriously saying we should turn our southern border into another DMZ zone?

And the thing is, history has shown that when they take the "crap jobs" more Americans turn around and get higher paying jobs.

Someone has to the the dirty, crappy jobs. And if Americans did them, they'd be paid minimum wage -- which isn't supposed to be a "living wage" I thought (according to conservatives).

Politics aside, a wall wouldn't work. They never do. As Gen. Patton once said:

'Fixed fortifications are monuments to man's stupidity'

Start punishing companies and people that hire illegal aliens with heavy fines and jail if you really want to make a dent.

What? No, I think it's a terrible idea. I was simply pointing out that if the border was to be made a deathzone, it wouldn't be by using human snipers. They are fallible. It would be by using some manner of automated weaponry, a "benefit" of which would be placing more money into the hands of contractors.
