Right now is a great time to attack the USA? In what capacity? Bomb it? Attack our massive navy? Land attack? Those are all terrible ideas and would never be successful. There is never a time to attack the US and tbh, the promotion of war and the declaration of its inevitability is irresponsible. There's more than a few countries that would like to put the dog on its leash, but that's not going to happen as long as we control the financial stability of the world. Also, war isn't as profitable in a world consumer market. The idea is to maintain relations so we can make money off each other. It was different during WW2 and the Cold War. We protected our allies because that's who we did business with, but the enemies of yesterday are some of our biggest economic partners today.

In a one on one fight the US is not the best in the world in armed conflict. they've struggled against jungle warfare, insurgencies and the Nazis gave them a good shellacking at times too.

Having oodles of tanks and battleships is good if the other guy cannot fight back, but when the other guy has cruise missiles, tanks, ships and technology the US hasn't understood yet their supremacy can quickly be eroded.

China and Russia - I believe - already have ways to disable aircraft carriers. They've never used it because they didn't want to let the cat out of the bag. China already has proven it can shoot down satellites.

The USA's main advantage is its isolation... if a no nuke war were to occur then the US would lose ALL its military bases outside of America

2020 is far too soon. We will remain the dominant war machine on the planet until at least 2025. I think the quarter century gap will take at least a dozen years before catching up to us.

being in all the different places would work to our advantage, first they can't move toward the U.S. without the U.S. knowing.
second the largest number of U.S. troops and assets are in the U.S. over one million.

third being that we have troops all over the world, we could come from multiple places at once and they wouldn't be able to defend a invasion force being attacked from multiple fronts.

I'm afraid you are quite incorrect,we OWN conventional warfare.
The nearest compitition are our allies accept they don't have the money and numbers to match and the rest just talk and avoid us by using proxies or we shoot them down decsively .
HOW many F15s have been shot down by enemy aircraft?
We have learned well from our elder brothers in the SAS and England.

The problem with China is its SHEER SCALE !!!

HALF the population is like small town America
That just wants to be left alone to its own devices
