The Fox News 'War On Christmas' Panic Is Already Starting

"Well, it's only October, but the War on Christmas is already in full swing," Fox News' Heather Nauert says in the clip, posted online by Media Matters.

Whelp, the end of the year is fast approaching, and with that comes the yearly ritual where Fox News pretends like the atheists are waging war on Christmas. Though it's only October... Is Fox News trying to get a jump on the stores putting out their Christmas stuff or something?

The report was about Concord High School in Elkhart, Indiana, which is being sued by the Freedom From Religion Foundation and the American Civil Liberties Union over a live Nativity scene featured in its annual Christmas show.

Concord High School is a public school.

They have to cover Chri$tma$ $omehow, without covering it favorably. Any adverti$ement i$ good for bui$ne$$, the more controver$sial, the better.

Which remind$ me, I better go shop…

Christmas merchandising annoys me to no end as well. Oh and Christmas music too. I can't stand hearing the SAME songs over and over every year in every store you walk into. I try to avoid stores during this time of year as well.

Ahah! Another subtle progressive attack nibbling around the edges of the favorite standard of American (and elsewhere) traditions.
I don't claim to see a coordinated attack from such sources, but the frequency of this hatred of tradition values held around the Western world are rather telling in their persistence even if a minority viewpoint.

If you don't care for the holiday season, don't participate. Why should you care about what we enjoy? I'm sure you would have the exact same stance toward your pleasures that we might frown upon.

Christmas is a Christian tradition not an American tradition. The only tradition that is American about this holiday is cashing in on sales.

If you don't care for the holiday season, don't participate.

Yes just shut up and accept it being forced on you.

Why should you care about what we enjoy?

Only we matter people who don't think like we do have no right to say anything.

I'm sure you would have the exact same stance toward your pleasures that we might frown upon.

Are his pleasures being forced upon others?

Know what?
This Christian is going to join the war on Christmas!
Actually, I have for years now if you have kept up with my writings at all.
Below is NOT sarcasm, it is really how I feel.

Christ was not born on Dec. 25th, even Christian scholars agree that Christ was not born in the winter.

Christmas was supposed to be a holiday, which literally means holy day.

What has it become?

A materialistic frenzy that enriches corporations
while leaving the poor bankrupt.

A hedonistic frenzy of overeating and drinking too much
while there are people who don't have enough to eat
and the people engaging in this obesity fest are
growing in pounds/stones each year

A gaudy tacky fest to see who can have the
tackiest display in the neighborhood,
using massive amounts of energy
just to impress others with how tacky
they can be

Believe it or not, this Christian
says either get the money changers
out of the holiday, or realize that
the holiday is a faux that has turned into a way
to rape consumers and enrich corporations

Ban public expressions of Christmas, I'm all for it.
Ban stores from insulting or hurting the feelings of
non-Christians with displays, great.
Ban all cities from creating Christmas displays,
wonderful.
Forbid all public acknowledgement of Christmas,
to keep from hurting people's feelings who
aren't Christians, love it.

Because Christmas is not Christ's birthday,
it has been twisted and is now run by the
money changers who have invaded the temple
for their own personal gain.

So this is one Christian who is all for the
elimination of Christmas, so we don't
hurt the feelings of non-Christians.

Why would non-Christians want to celebrate
a supposed Holy Day of another religion anyway?
Especially a religion that they claim is always
hurting their feelings and being mean to them
and trying to oppress them?

Eliminating Christmas would be good for
Christians and non-Christians alike.

Let the war on Christmas begin,
this Christian agrees with it.

Christians can move their
remembrance of the birth
of Christ to another day
closer to his real birth
and on a Sunday, (like Easter)
and keep it a Holy Day, and
not allow it to become
a hedonistic, obesity feeding,
poverty making, holiday.

Any idea of how many Christians there are in the US that celebrate Christmas.Yes , they do buy and exchange gifts. That is the thought behind it

If you don't care for the holiday season, don't participate.

Sounds like a very good idea to me.

Yes just shut up and accept it being forced on you.

How is it "forced on you" . You have the right not to frequent stores , etc. No one "forces" you to.

Are his pleasures being forced upon others?

Dont know , no one has told us . And yes , you could say that they are. His "pleasure" of not wanting to celebrate Christmas. So the answer is yes.

I think traditions are really an important part of childhood. But, Christmas has become so toxic. I feel like its a disease we pass on from generation to generation.

You're quoting another biased media outlet (HUFFINGTON POST), quoting another biased media outlet (MEDIA MATTERS) complaining that another biased media outlet (FOX) is pushing another biased agenda?
Humbug.

I thought Socialists, Liberals and Progressives were all about giving people free stuff...They should be all for Christmas.
Happy Holidays.

Well, considering the local walmart already has christmas stuff up, hardly any halloween stuff left, no fall/thanksgiving stuff, I am all for waging a war on christmas. Cannot stand seeing it before thanksgiving.

Yes it's the thought behind it that is why the day after Christmas is one of the biggest days for returns to stores. If it was the thought then there wouldn't be any returns would there?

How is it "forced on you" . You have the right not to frequent stores , etc. No one "forces" you to.

Yes no one has the right to frequent stores. After all who needs food and supplies to live on?

Dont know , no one has told us . And yes , you could say that they are. His "pleasure" of not wanting to celebrate Christmas. So the answer is yes.

You don't know his pleasures yet they are being forced upon you. Oh wait no they aren't because stores will still be playing the same crappy songs over and over and over.

So during Christmas everything in the stores are free? Christmas has become a capitalist's wet dream. When that happened the holiday turned to crap.

What is being forced on you?

So you have to walk past a barn with a baby and some old dudes?

I'm not Christian but this hypersensitivity to everything is getting old.

Those of you who claim to support religious freedom, while at the same time supporting any religion being dominant in the public arena over the others, are quite simply hypocrites, pure and simple.

You don't support religious freedom, you support Christian dominance.
