We are all bigots MystikMushroom. It's one of the reasons I feel so comfortable tossing that word around :-)

were not all bigots. you are projecting your feelings on to other people. your comfortable using that word because you are comfortable being a bigot. you falsely apply that term to everyone (even over the internet to people you've never met) so you can feel secure about what you know in your heart is wrong. its sad really

...racist people seem to automatically assume people hate them as much as they hate others. i figure they must have some deep seated inferiority complex that they project on to others.

Thank you for that

That's pretty near perfect. Fear and self loathing have caused mankind so much grief. I wish we could actually measure how much

I once read that Stalin was abused when he was a boy. I don't actually know if that's true, but I'm willing to believe it

Acceptance and unconditional love are hard things to give and harder for some to receive - but without these things we get monsters

Maybe we are all racists in private

It's an interesting thing to think about - isn't it?

This is a great idea. People should stop hating blacks any minute now.

I think moves like this create more animosity.

So, is there anyone you don't like - or do you like everyone?

lol i don't know i was wondering the same thing

They seem pretty riled up about him whoever he is. Lol
Anyways last year the KKK petitioned to have a rally in Memphis but is was knocked down by the city counsel. Honestly I'm a southerner and have been all my life and personally have never met one of their members as far as I know.

But one time in knoxville when I was a teenager, some of us kids were out one night and parking at an industrial area. It was around 8:00 pm or so and most of the plants and factories were closed.
Anyways we were just partying a bit and listening to some 8 tracks (LOL yeah I'm old) and the over across a small river we saw a big burning cross. Holy carp!!! Scared the carp out of us. We started the car but left the headlights off till we were clear of the area and back to the highway. Even the guys with us were shaking and all freaked out.

That ended that party spot real quick like. We never went back.

Indeed - so much so that we begin to anticipate it. Then behave accordingly

Occasionally if we look for it everywhere, we will find it. It might even begin to feel like persecution

Not a dig Stormdancer - an observation and my opinion

Edit to add this Stormdancer - just for you...

Years ago I was involved pretty seriously with an African American Gentleman. I'm using the words African American because that's what he insisted on at the time. God knows what he would prefer now. We used to have some pretty funny fights about that. He was very political - and - I am not African American

One time we were seated in a restaurant and were being ignored by the waitress. And then - ignored some more. No menu - not even a hello be right with you. After a while it became a little ridiculous - and he was angry. He was pretty sure it was about him - or the two of us being together. I hadn't even considered that

Honestly - I could see she had her hands full - and eventually she showed up - apologized profusely and said the other waitress was out sick or something. She was darling and the rest of the meal was just fine

Why did he get angry so fast and assume the worst? I'd been with him before when things were exactly what he thought they were. I also knew of other situations he'd been in - he had his reasons

Do you know why I didn't even consider it? Because it wasn't my experience - had never once been my experience

Sometimes we really see what we expect to see - sometimes we see what we want to see - and sometimes we don't see any of it because it's never been our story

your welcome. i agree with what you say. i would disagree with walmart selling black panther or nazi items if they did. a general store should not pander to niche markets that may offend others.

Walmart.... now Sears, KMart and Ebay have joined.

How much longer before the poor southern whites whose "heritage" is being challenged by the politically correct start rioting and burning down stores that refuse to sell the rebel flag on items and bring old boys hopes for a race war to fruition? Probably never lol.

You can't make this stuff up..... interesting developments by the hour.

And so it begins. . . . . . .

This must be an American thing in Australia the confederate flag is associated with Colonel Sanders,Dixie Chicken, the General Lee from Dukes of Hazard and Rednecks its similar to the Eureka flag we have here which is what our 'rebels' use here.If you look at death mayhem and destruction worldwide far more has been done under the stars and stripes than stars and bars and even if there is some direct link you have nazi's showing off flags far more odious in nature in your country and to many Farrakhans nation of Islam flag might be offensive but is he going to remove it dont think so.A lot of this seems to be cheap point scoring or over reaction.

FIRST, let me say that I've ALWAYS been against the Confederate flag from the moment I understood the meaning behind it as a child. Here's what's pissing me off, people who've gone about their lives everyday seeing the flag whether its at a neighbor's home or random building, and NOW want to cry wolf about it! B!TCH....don't try to jump on the bandwagon when it didn't bother you last week.

SECOND, WTF is wrong with those who are OFFENDED at the fact of it being removed from Walmart? You must be racist deep down inside if you support a flag that represents HATE & SLAVERY. What our education system failed to do was teach the TRUTH because there were SO MANY SLAVE REVOLTS, WHITE FOLKS GOT SCARED HENCE THE CIVIL WAR. It is a known fact that there were many slave revolts. Do you think they're going to teach that in school, maybe they'll BRIEFLY mention NAT TURNER, but that's about it.

For the supporters, you're literally supporting RACISM, SEGREGATION, AND HATE and DON'T EVEN try to milk the Confederate Flag down to some nonsense.

IT'S THE 21ST CENTURY, YOUR DAYS OF BEING WILLFULLY IGNORANT ARE LOOOOOOOOOONG OVER.

Kudos to Walmart for taking the correct stance and leading the way by removing the offensive items from their stores.

I now await stores such as eBay, Amazon, Target, Spencers, etc to follow suit.

It is almost impossible to find Nazi related items in any of these stores. They need to be consistent with any offensive items they carry in their stores.

I'm generaly neutral to everyone until they give me a reason to never talk to them again. everyone has the option of liking or disliking someone but when we constantly dwell on negative aspects of a situation it leads to generalization. I've encountered white racist and wrote them off but that doesn't keep me from talking to white people. however systemic racism is a negative adaption of this society that greatly retards the progression of society and can be found all over the world from the caste system in india to the walmart stores of america. things presented to the public should be generalized and deviations should be handled in private.

racism is a deviation of human nature. no one is born racist. unfortunately some people (mostly white racist) would have us believe racism is the norm. and because whites hold most of the power in this society that idea has been allowed to run rampant.

It doesn't matter! Boutiques, flea markets, Sidewalk stalls, etc will take up the slack to supply the market with what ever that segment of society wants. Capitalism...
