Why can't some people accept their gender..

Because they are mentally ill, and need treatment, not hormones and mutilation.

I think people who murder kill abuse members of the TG community are the ones who are mentally ill, and are the members of society that need the treatment you are referring to.

I disagree.

Murderers need prison, not therapy.

Are you scared of letting your daughter hold a gun..she might seem a little too manly for you..We wouldn't want that now would we?

When they leave prison, they murder even more.. I think rehabilitation and therapy could have transformative power in their lives..

My daughter who is of-age got her CWP the day after her 21st birthday.

She has killed more than a few deer.

She excelled at the pole vault and 800m.

She lettered 5 years in cheer and was captain for the last two.

She is elegantly beautiful.

She know that putting lipstick on a pig does nothing to change the fact that behind the lipstick - it is still a pig.

No, its a blanket statement founded only in your misconceived perceptions the subsequently derived opinions. Because there is no "one size fits all", despite your apparent desire to reduce humanity into a simple, zero sum equation.

I'm sorry, but you're incorrect.

People who have undergone 'gender reassignment surgery,' or genital mutilation as it is properly called statistically do much poorer in the life department post-mutilation.

You want to assert it....then prove it.

Posting positions contrary to your homo-centric agenda is not 'trollish.'

It is the normative position in our society.

Not for long maybe, but it's still clinging.

No but making assertions and saying they are backed up by "statistics" while not posting said statistics IS trollish behavior. Then giving a brief reply and STILL not posting them when asked to is additional trollish behavior.

By the way, transgender and homosexualism isn't the same thing.

This is wearisome...you can find the info as easily as I can if you care to look for it:

Better not tell that to the 'LGBTWERTY" 'community.'

Disregarding how insulting you are being to a minority group of people you don't even know, the LGBT community agrees with me.

Also, don't think that your deflection has made me forget about your lack of evidence for your claims. I'm still waiting for you to post those statistics that you claim exist.

I had to snicker at the irony here. Maybe you missed it, but I don't think so.

You are such an angry little person - I posted the source - you can go spend three hours reviewing it.

Dhejne C, et al, (2011) Long-Term Follow-Up of Transsexual Persons Undergoing Sex Reassignment Surgery: Cohort Study in Sweden. PLoS ONE 6(2): e16885

Link to the study

That is an interesting study, but it doesn't paint the whole picture. For instance there is this:

Thinking about the Swedish Study

First, this research does not compare transsexuals who received surgical treatment to transsexuals who did NOT receive surgical intervention. It compares transsexuals who received surgery with the general population. Think about that. Generally, when we want to evaluate the success, or lack thereof, of a particular procedure on a group of people, it’s compared to people with the same condition who did not receive the procedure or received some other treatment. For instance, this is like comparing people who received a kidney transplant with people who don’t have kidney problems at all.

A fair comparison would be receiving a kidney transplant or staying on hemodialysis. Then you can compare whether the surgical intervention improved the QOL over the non-surgical intervention

The second issue is that by the time an individual has surgery, they have been dysphoric around gender for a very long time. They very likely have suffered discrimination, the impact of stigma, and basically lived in a psychological state of siege for much of their life. Neither hormones or surgery fix a person’s history of abuse, stigma, rejection, and marginalization. Remember, they started following folks in 1973. 1973.

Also the study says these things:

“…the results should not be interpreted such as sex reassignment per se increases morbidity and mortality.”

"Things might have been even worse without sex reassignment. As an analogy, similar studies have found increased somatic morbidity, suicide rate, and overall mortality for patients treated for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.[39], [40] This is important information, but it does not follow that mood stabilizing treatment or antipsychotic treatment is the culprit.”

So all in all it is an interesting study, but you are misusing it.

Do you realize that, in your hillybilly colloquialism that is not even applicable, you just compared your daughter to a pig?

I am pretty sure that many people didn't care when women wanted equal rights back then.

Good point..

I wonder if some men are scared of (male to female) transgendered women because they are actually very beautiful not only on the inside but physically as well. Most of the ladies that I have met were actually very beautiful and very graceful and in a very natural manner..

I imagine alot of men would be scared of that, because they perhaps have far too much appeal..intellectual, spiritual and otherwise..

*eyeroll* There is no irony. Homosexuality isn't the same as transgender. Just because the label for the two communities includes both of them doesn't mean that transgender people are homosexual or vice-versa. Maybe learn how acronyms and definitions work, THEN you can attempt to understand irony.

You are such an angry little person - I posted the source - you can go spend three hours reviewing it.

Angry? I'm not angry. I asked you for a source for your claim and you brushed me off initially, so I pushed the issue. I've already looked at your study though. It doesn't make the conclusions you think it is making.
