I just pasted the title of this thread and got 243,000 links. I had a great link picked from a well known Libertarian, but then I realized what your are doing.....

You are attacking the messenger and not addressing the message, I am not going to play that game


I don't want my values being forced onto children, and I don't want yours instilled onto them either.....that responsibility should be reserved for Parents and schools should stick to the 3 R's

It's true. Only Fox news seems to have specifics on which grades will be taught what. The school system there has not made those plans yet.

It appears that the messenger went to Fox news and embellished...as in MADE UP certain facts that don't exist. Fox news did not fact check. Not a surprise. Title IX requires the non discrimination. That is federal law, if you don't like it, you may have to homeschool or leave the country.

That's exactly the sort of glib responses that sell these Fox tabloid pieces. You should start writing for them and explain how you consult your genitalia on matters of science. It's pretty much the same as "trusting your gut" over science.

So, no discrimination, total acceptance, UNLESS one happens to believe they are actually a boy, 100%, or a girl, 100%, right? Then, they are targets?? That's what I read in this.

Insanity seems such a mild word for this sort of idiocy! Flat out evil is a better word. They will reap what the sow.

I think I'm starting to realize that we are all arguing over different things but not knowing it. For example, I think some of you are upset about the whole "nobody is %100 male or female" line and others are upset because they think the first group is upset about educating students on the existence of transgender folks.

I think I'm debating two people right now in this thread and we all have the wrong assumptions about what we are arguing about.

We should be discussing the validity of the Fox news article and it's source made things up. If we want to talk about gender identity, many people are 100% male or female. Just look at the Masters and Johnson scale, one can be that. There are others who are not and that may be one of the things taught. And I am not saying they will teach Masters and Johnson either, since the lesson plans have not been made. One poorly sourced Fox news article has had many put the cart before the horse.

No. This whole 100% male or female thing isn't being understood correctly. Nobody is saying that you aren't one or the other; there's simply more to it than that.

Think about it in terms of handedness (another recent thread gave me the idea). Let's say you write with your right hand and that's what hand you say you are. But you probably do a number of things with the other while the person next to you might mix it up more or less than you do. But you are both right-handed. Understanding that you aren't 100% right-handed doesn't mean you aren't right-handed.

Hormones and your brain make up your gender in far more significant ways than genitalia (but let's call it equal to be fair). Some men have more testosterone than others and more estrogen than others. We all have male and female hormones coursing through us just like we all use both of our hands for something. It won't make you a different gender against your will.

Attacking the messenger would be attacking Fox News. Which in this case also needs to be done, but I'll come back to that.

Attacking the Source however is a different thing. Going after the source of bad information is how you weed through the truth from the lies. This source, Sprigg and the FRC are full of it. They have made a job out of lying to people and distorting facts to suit their agenda.

In this case Fox also needs to be attacked IMO because they know full well they are spreading BS around because they have the same agenda as FRC.

If you're someone who actually cares about what is true you'd be attacking them to because it's primarily you and others like you that they are intentionally lying to and manipulating. That should upset you.

It comes down to whether or not you enjoy that narrative more than you enjoy the truth. Which is it going to be??

I would think that article sounded a little over the top. I would have looked up the source. I would see it notes some dubious organizations. I would have looked at what the school district has actually done. Wait....I did. Had to after reading this post.

This is ats at its best, a story filled with lies and made up outrage makes it to be on the top page for stories, on top you have posters showing how much the world is still stuck in the 50s.

A bit of science: Did you know all fetuses begin as female, it is when they receive or do not receive the Y chromosome that they continue on with their assigned sex. In some cases the brain may remain XX but the body becomes XY and vice versa, you are then transgender! Genderfluid takes it even further by saying you don't have to pick a certain gender and stay there, you can identify as male today or female tomorrow, and even androgynous later on. Most people laugh at this and make jokes about identifying as a dog or giraffe etc, but may I remind you these conditions are real.

Yesterday homoesexuality was considered insanity and unnatural, today it is the same with transgenderism. So please keep in mind Transgender people are in fact people and have feelings and thoughts just like you, hearing that we are insane or that we have some hidden agenda is both ignorant and bigoted.

What would you rather have? Children being taught that its not just a gender binary and overall being more welcoming of others and allowing them to express themselves without fear of being labeled as sub-human (like most transgender folks are) Or would you rather they be taught the binary that many of you think you fit into? Its open mindeness and tolerance versus bigotry and ignorance. How is this even up for debate?

The issue isn't THAT this stuff is taught, it is when. Slowly but surely schools are taking away the natural RIGHT of a parent to raise their child the way they see fit. School, once upon a time was about ACADEMICS but now it seems as if Leftists are trying to make school about social indoctrination. The ONLY THING kids should learn about sex at school is STD's, The various forms of birth control, Masturbation is ok, the EXISTENCE of the common sexual identifiers such as hetero, homo, trans and maybe androgynous; They should be presented in a neutral light as if they are normal. If other students are disruptive then they should be sent up to the dean's office. They should be taught the basics of the most common methods of sexual contact, vaginal, oral, anal and digital and the safe ways to go about them (such as using generous lubrication for anal). They should be taught about date rape and the dangers of drinking as it pertains to sex. Above all, parents need to be allowed to opt out of certain sections. An example of this would be the school giving a syllabus about what will be covered each day. If a parent doesn't want their twelve year old to learn about dildos QUITE yet, they can opt them out.


I'm sure I missed several, but THESE are the things that need to be taught in sex ed. I'm pro homosexual/ trans / demi/ whatever else there is (read, I don't care how you live your life as long as you don't pressure it on me or mine), but I'm also pro choice for parents educating their children how they want.

Exactly. I don't know why this is such a difficult concept for some. And back on honested3's post on gender is a sliding scale. I ask you this, do you really have to put a nu erical value on gender? GENDER? How about realizing kids are who they are and letting them be? Groups of kids are going to tease groups of kids, it has been happening since the dawn of time. Emos are gonna wear black and listen to depressing music, jocks are going to wear Letterman jackets, the rockers are going to wear torn jeans and listen to heavy metal and the gangsters are gonna sag their pants and listen to rap. You know what the real problem is? Bullying. How about you focus your efforts on making kids understand that everyone is different and that bullying is bad instead of causing mass gender/sexual confusion by telling them that even though you are a girl you might also be a boy and here are your sexual options.

School was never just about academics. Humans are social animals.

Turning a blind eye and letting kids figure it out in back alleys is so much better then learning via planned studies in a controlled environment.
