Call it 'gender fluidity': Schools to teach kids there's no such thing as boys or girls

This is complete insanity. The title is the title of the article.

One of the nation’s largest public school systems is preparing to include gender identity to its classroom curriculum, including lessons on sexual fluidity and spectrum – the idea that there’s no such thing as 100 percent boys or 100 percent girls. Fairfax County Public Schools released a report recommending changes to their family life curriculum for grades 7 through 12. The changes, which critics call radical gender ideology, will be formally introduced next week. “The larger picture is this is really an attack on nature itself – the created order,” said Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council.

The plan calls for teaching seventh graders about transgenderism and tenth graders about the concept that sexuality is a broader spectrum --- but it sure smells like unadulterated sex indoctrination.

This is all part of the progressive socialist agenda.

I really don't have much to say. I can understand teaching about not discriminating, etc. but comments like "Everyobe's changing" and "there are no 100% boys and 100% girls" is complete unadulterated BS!

Discussion of sexuality doesn't belong in school further than health class. Im all for social awareness and acceptance of sexual orientation but this is going to create a bunch of overly sensitive, politically correct, weenies.

Without further research it's hard to tell what's true and what's not about this article. But before anyone gets their panties too twisted over it I'd recommend digging deeper for what the truth really is.

This has a few red flags that point to this most likely being blown way out of proportion. It's a Fox News Report that is using the Family Research Council as it's source. Even more damaging to it's credibility is that it's Peter Sprigg of the FRC who is radically anti-gay and has been caught lying and/or distorting facts to suit his agenda on multiple occasions.

Anything from the FRC and those involved you can bet isn't going to be straight facts about anything. They are one of the largest most well known Christian Conservative Anti-Gay Propaganda Hate Groups that exist. My guess is that whatever is happening in Fairfax is probably much different that what is reported here.

I am a transwoman speaking on behalf of something that seems to confuse some of you. Nobody is 100% of any gender, it is a sliding scale. Don't believe me then just look around you. If gender was a binary (aka the gender binary) then all boys and girls would literally act the same, have you never seen or heard of a tomboy or a flamboyant man?

Gender is a social construct, gender isn't what is between your legs but what is between your ears. I think the "craziness" you are all seeing is you are confusing gender with genitalia. Yes the majority of people are assigned male or female genitalia at birth (we wont even dive into intersex people because your minds would explode) But if you think that is all that defines gender that you are ultimately wrong.

What they are teaching is wonderful, it shows that it is totally fine to be a tomboy who identifies as female, or a tomboy who identifies as male. It also says if you are a flamboyant but identify as male or female that is also totally fine. I know this concept is confusing and probably scary to many of you folks but it is only another part of Humanity. I for one know that I would have been spared a lot of pain and humilation if the schools I went to taught these things

A bit of science: Did you know all fetuses begin as female, it is when they receive or do not receive the Y chromosome that they continue on with their assigned sex. In some cases the brain may remain XX but the body becomes XY and vice versa, you are then transgender! Genderfluid takes it even further by saying you don't have to pick a certain gender and stay there, you can identify as male today or female tomorrow, and even androgynous later on. Most people laugh at this and make jokes about identifying as a dog or giraffe etc, but may I remind you these conditions are real.

Yesterday homoesexuality was considered insanity and unnatural, today it is the same with transgenderism. So please keep in mind Transgender people are in fact people and have feelings and thoughts just like you, hearing that we are insane or that we have some hidden agenda is both ignorant and bigoted.

What would you rather have? Children being taught that its not just a gender binary and overall being more welcoming of others and allowing them to express themselves without fear of being labeled as sub-human (like most transgender folks are) Or would you rather they be taught the binary that many of you think you fit into? Its open mindeness and tolerance versus bigotry and ignorance. How is this even up for debate?

Nothing is true about this article, they don't even know what they are going to teach.
ETA: Ok nothing was strong word, they are teaching about transgender.

Yeah, I read that too. I like how they save it till the end of the article too. After a whole slew of his opinions and ideas about what this is, it then states that he actually has zero evidence of anything he's just said. That's "fair and balanced" reporting as usual.

But I knew this was going to be packed full of BS as soon as I saw that the source was the Family Research Council. Anytime you see or hear their name as the source for something you can bet it's either a distortion of the facts or even a flat out lie.

Actually, this whole no such thing as gender thing doesn't accept trans people, it dismisses them.

If trans folks believe they are a different gender
and if then gender is irrelevant overall
then trans people are not trans, therefore invalidates their claims of feeling in the wrong body.

It also dismisses gay people
If you say you are sexually attracted to the same gender
then someone comes along and tells you that you are being genderphobic given gender is not a specific thing but rather a "fluid" aspect, then yeah, you are ultimately suggesting you do not accept a gay person.

It is backwards thinking..it is just stupid, and it is provably wrong by nature studies. gender roles are presented in nature in very specific ways.

I accept the transexual claim. I understand gender is a on/off switch overall and some neuralchemical aspects may ultimately get reversed during the building stages of life..sure, why not. it makes general scientific sense overall, I can also accept that feminine and masculine traits can be a sliding scale, but no, suggesting that gender is ultimately invalid overall as a rule..to (poorly) cater to .05% of society is just dumb and only serves to confuse more than help anyone...to include (and perhaps especially confuse) people claiming trans.


Add: I remember reading a gay man discussing how he was being ultimately attacked by a social justice crusader woman who said he was being bigoted and sexist for not being attracted to a woman due to gender roles being false..that he is meant to be attracted to mindsets, not body parts.
..felt that is relevant here.

Those of us knowing who we are,are abnormal now. It's not fair. All because those not knowing who they were whined about it to make it fair for them. So we're the assholes here. Not right.

What's next, being arrested for having female genitalia and wearing a dress? But officer I was "born this way", I am in fact a girl but I don't have birth certificate to prove it because putting the gender on them was outlawed 10 years ago in 2020.

I think what you said right there is all they're really suggesting anyway. That there is more of a curve if you were to plot peoples Male/Female gender identity or a sliding scale so to speak. Rather than simply Male and Female.

Which is really just common sense for anyone who's been paying attention anyway. That's why some of us are saying not to get too excited over this report because it's made by people who like to distort things with suggestive statements and rhetoric.
