What's wrong with not being 100% of either gender? Seriously - what's wrong with it? So you have a big burly guy who likes to watch romantic comedies. Maybe he has a little bit girlyness in him - say 5%. Are you threatened by that?

No matter what they teach in schools....

The boys and girls are smart enough to figure out how the human body is constructed and take appropriate measures.

It's not rocket science....

Here's a link to what I believe is the school board meeting discussing this. I haven't watched all of it but it sounds to me like all they are doing is to include gender identification into the list of protected classes in their non-discrimination policy.

Interesting that degeneracy is put in the same sentence with homosexuality and promiscuity. Newsflash! Homosexuality and promiscuity are both natural to our species, and are quite normal, natural, and healthy. It is only religion that has made human sexuality dirty, and something to be ashamed of.

Insane ideology is not ''progressive'' and teaching those that need to know reality and truth, that which opposes nature and reality is extremely stupid.

The truth is that there is such a thing as male and female, fact! Humans, unless in rare cases of hermaphrodites or AIS, are either female or male and only genetic tests can establish that.

Impressionable children should be happy with the body they have. Instilling some notion that they can be something else at a whim, which they later might totally regret is anathema to cultural development and could be deemed cruelty.

Transgender operations are a form of invasive surgery and only alters the physical not the genetics. As for hormones, the human body has evolved with the hormones it has for male and female, they aren't always in equal quantities for each person but they are how they are, altering those could have unseen consequences in human development and evolution.

And other animal species? Are those going to be labelled as neither /either?

As for calling those that know for a fact that there is such as thing as male or female as being hateful, outdated or lacking knowledge, that is bunk and offensive. Science knows that there is male /female genetics and physicality. Those buying into them /us / 'bygone era' / progressive camps is fueling hatred and is only buying into divide and conquer mentality. Denying that there is such a thing as gender is the worst sort of ignorance and delusion. It is a symptom of living in a synthetic environment and detachment from reality. If all of humanity is placed into realising it's reliance on nature environment again, as it has done since it's inception, it would soon abandon all notions of being non gender specific.

It isn't political or PC, well not the way it's presented anyhow. It's science. We learn new things about biology all the time. Gender fluidity is new knowledge. People can be born with male chromosomes but have a vagina and vice-verse and sometimes people are born with no clear gender at all. It's important to know these things, it's important for children to learn these things.

The suicide rate for transgender and intersex teens and adults is extremely high. Probably higher than we know due to some people never telling anyone that they identify as the opposite sex or no sex.

The real political infection into this MEDICAL issue comes from Conservative tribalism and their complete inability to live and let live. Can you imagine telling a 15 year old born with an arm that is not fully formed that they are imagining it, that they actually have two fully formed arms, that they're just attention seeking special snowflakes?

It's Conservative political correctness that is offended, that keeps refuting and debating facts because they think everything different from themselves is icky.

if you want to get to the crux of this problem, be sure to listen to that video I posted above starting at around 1:18. The fed gov't is trying to force school districts around the country to change thier policies like this or they will take away their federal funding.

I think what's really going on is, hundreds of years of strict religious and political ideology is being challenged in the 21rst century, and it's getting really uncomfortable for a lot of folks. All I can say is GOOD! It's about time those ideologies are challenged, and exposed for what they are. Antiquated, bigoted, ignorant thinking from a bygone era, that wanted everyone boxed, wrapped, labeled, and put on the shelf. That way, anyone who is different, sticks out like a sore thumb, and can be dealt with immediately, so they don't corrupt the system of control. Fortunately, our sciences have helped us to understand much about ourselves, and the old "traditions" are gonna be retired in time.

These are good things, though, and what in the world do they have to do with socialism?? Socialism is an economic model, those are social issues.

Funny - I feel a sense of genuine joy that finally the real world is being allowed to exist without being questioned, rearranged or shuffled off into the shadows

I want to ask you a question - and you'll maybe see it as snark, but I am to the bone sincere when I ask: Don't you sometimes (even just sometimes...?) begin to suspect that nature is not what you once thought? Or what you were taught?

Here's the thing....it is not the governments job to instill value systems onto students that should be left to the parents.

There is a culture cultivated in academia today that teachers and the system know better than the parents. I have a couple of teacher friends in Denton and it always surprises me to hear the way they talk about parents, they have no respect for parents rights or the parents themselves.

Now if a student took a sociology class or anthropology class, these kinds of hypothesis may be appropriate for discussion.

Well said. Ultimately it doesn't even matter if it's biology or choice. We have free will and so even if it were choice to change your gender, who deems themselves as having the authority to say it's wrong or shameful... no one, isn't that what we in the West claim makes us great? Freedom?

Being that WE value freedom and choice should we not educate our children on the full scope of what that means? That though we may find something icky it doesn't mean we get to act against anothers pursuit of happiness?

This is about teaching kids what's natural and real about their world and their lives. Part of what's natural and very real is that everyone is different
