MH17-Ukrainian BUK ?

I have no doubt it was a BUK system. Probably a lone launcher w/o a connected command post. They simply misidentified (if identified at all) the target. BUK system are very capable medium range SAM. Getting a civilian plane was a piece of cake. Too bad the gunner was a complete trigger happy idiot...

What people over look is it was Russia making the claims about the US satellite and what it saw, not the US.

The look and feel of MH17 shoot down has the hallmarks of operation Himmler coming from Russia (Just as he used the excuse or ethinc Russians in Crimea, another tactic used by the Nazis). Russia has tried to sell MH17 as intentional with the Ukraine government giving the orders for it.

The goal? To swing international opinion away from Ukraine into the Russian camp, gaining support to move beyond Crimea.

Not sure about such "grand scheme" theories like that! The first big looser of this event was Russia. It have galvanized Occident opignion against Russia.

Not if you look at Russian media and its effect on the Russian people. Attempts to lay complete blame on Ukraine has gone along with the propaganda about the government in kiev and what they are capable of. Russia argued the kiev government was killing ethnic Russian civilians. Throw in an aircraft killing a umber of foreign nationals, in this case European, and then try and spin that by suggesting the Kiev government new they were bringing own a civilian airliner, and you have a situation allowing the heat to come off Russia and her actions against Ukraine.

I truly believe Putin thinks he is in the middle of the cold war running the USSR and that what ever propaganda they put out must be believed. This is why I also think we are seeing so many theories / justifications coming out of Russia. It is becoming evident people aren't buying their claims and have been trying to shift the story / theory into an area others might buy.

Finally, to hammer that point home, after all this time on HM17 and Russia's failure to convince other countries, we now have Russia herself stating it was brought down with a BUK missile, and once again are blaming Kiev.

The purpose of them claiming the US satellite was over head was not because of potential evidence, but to sow the idea that the US knew what occurred, that Ukraine was behind it and that the US was covering that fact. A nice psyop on part of Russia to shift the focus away from them and to Ukraine, the Us and the west.

As like Russias other claims on Ukraine / Crimea, it failed miserably.


Given the comparison of Putins actions and how the Nazis operated, not to mention Russian false flags in the past on their own people in order to start a war in Chechnya - twice, I would not be shocked if MH17 was in the same boat as Chechnya or Crimean justifications.

The same thing occurred to the Nazis when they staged the border incident with Poland. Not one nation bought the story the Nazis were giving.

I think after Crimea Putin was pushing for the eastern provinces in Ukraine and hit an unexpected level of resistance. I think the MH17 incident was designed to draw support away from the Kiev government on the international scene with the hopes of reducing the support the kiev government was getting from other nations, allowing Russia to do there thing without creating further financial issues for themselves.

That supposed report does not have a single source, it's only credited to some anonymous military engineers, not a single copy of the report is to be found anywhere, only reprints are of the same unsourced, unnamed, unsigned report that's floating around.

novayagazeta.ru is not even a Russian media source, it is literally owned by Gorbachev who is considered to be a traitor in Russia, who is only a figure head since the real owner is apparently Alexander Lebedev, a pro Western oligarch that also owns English Evening Standard newspaper, and ex owner of British Independent newspaper.

That source is crap, that story has no other source other the creative writings by anonymous creators.

Just curios, did anybody figure out yet that BUK is a top attack SAM? It's been a long time since this whole mess, it should have been apparent for just as long. MH17 was not hit from the top as BUK does in its terminal active tracker tracking phase.

Yeah we know that's how the report narrowed it down to a buk. It attacked the cockpit area not the jet exhaust like a missile from a plane. You need to read the report on fact theyes even found parts of the missile embedded in the plane russian manufature. No doubt what it was at all only thing we're waiting for in final report is waiting for is to tell us who the crew was bUT I've seen reports they know who manned it just verifying and looking for witnesses.

There will be trial over this going to be lucky if they don't make it a war crime.
