From the outside in????

Bud, I work very closely with LE and fire departments.

I also know the BS political nonsense played in crap like this.

This isn't some rolling out of new tactics and new standards. This is a vagina on a pedestal. That is it. It is the same as the dumpy 4' 210 roley female LEO being hired. Can't perform most of the job, but I guess is great at paperwork.

hang on, I have no Idea what you just said.. is 4.210 her weight or height? Because.. DAMN, now that ain't right at all either way. There are limits. :/

But in this case, I bet she proves you all wrong...

With the NYFD now having 46 women within their 10,500 member family, I say that is some hard-pushing political agenda. (sarcasm)

4ft tall. 210lbs.

And no....the slug didn't even make the run times...couldn't even get over the 6ft wall with a stool and she was still passed for Phoenix PD.

The US cities, in certain areas are more concerned with diversity based hiring standards, then actually hiring people best suited for the jobs.

Did each of them pass the requirements for the position? Or were exceptions made?
That is the issue here.

One would also have to ask if the other 10,454 male members passed the requirements for the position, or would they still be able to pass the test today?

Moving the goal line is not and never has been answering the question.

Continual fitness standards are there.

We are talking about the hiring of a female that couldn't meet the required standards to just get hired.

The NYFD are calling her and the other women - who they considered passed - "kick ass" - and will be welcomed with open arms by all the members. Period.

IMO there are times that "equaling" something is a BAD idea. I'm not the smallest dude, about 210 and I want someone that can haul my ass out if I'm overcome by smoke. Not someone that can't and now it's 3 firefighters. One for me and one to carry the other one out that can't do the job. That makes no sense. And before you go all nuts on me, I know many women that could do the job. My ex is damn strong. My friend Marie is another. You guys know women like that too. It's not sexist, it's stupid.

Why? If they can do it. I'm not talking GI Jane but women that can actually handle the rigors of combat. When you think about it, if an action went a long time a woman would be preferable. They are biologically designed for endurance.

With the new firefighting tactics, or should I say going back to how it was done in the olden days, they will be fighting the fire first and saving(?) people afterwards.

No. I'm talking about a woman that has the same training and is about 200lbs as well. You are still thinking GI Jane, which I said isn't what we're talking about.

Actually if it is suspected people inside it immediately changes to search and rescue. This is the decisions our captain makes within the first 30 seconds on scene. How and in what manner. I don't expect you to understand though. After pulling two articles off of the Internet, you're the expert.

Possessions before life? Is that attitude prevalent where you live? It makes no sense to me.

Am I the expert? You must be the expert to deduce that.

Actually, if you bother to read the link I provided, you will learn that breaking their way in, which brings in air - fuel for the fire - does not serve anyone, in fact, it causes more injury and death.

I don't have to try again. I've read the NYFD engineer's information. They won't be looking for anyone until the fire it out...it's coming.

So my information posted to you by fire instructors nationwide covering search and rescue firefighting operations, and ways to channel and feed the fire elsewhere so firemen can perform their search and rescue IN the blaze...means nothing to you and you refuse to look at it... Pretty much sums it up. You clearly have no knowledge or training in this field. If you need more training guides, I will provide them for anymore false claims you pull out.
