Yes, because she qualified in all the areas deemed necessary to fulfill the requirements of the job, by the people that tested her, whose opinions are the ones that count.

Her test administrator failed her FST.

The commissioner passed her through.

If the test administrator had marked the FST as a "pass" (as you are so insistent about), there would have never been an article about Rebecca Wax. The whole reason this is an issue is because "somebody" made sure that the media knew she had failed a required pass test, but was graduated regardless.

From the sources I read, the statement read that she completed all tests and they graduated her, simple. Perhaps they are trying to correct their discriminatory practices (testing) in many areas.

What you offer is about the most moronic post within this topic.

Standards change and usually get tougher as time goes by.

SF standards and training has gotten tougher and more grueling. Same goes for LE and many other physical professions.

But what is most troubling.....is your statement that the timed part needs to be removed, to allow more females to pass.
And here we all were under the incorrect assumption that you were for equal treatment and were of the mind that women can do what men can do, within the same given amount of time.
Guess your more for applying a handicap score to the females, in order to provide diversity, that wanting the best PERSON for the job.

And you must have passed up the little tidbit from the original article, where numerous female that ACTUALLY passed the requirements were pissed that this woman was pushed through.

They only started passing the requirements after they were forced to change the standards from discriminatory to non-discriminatory and they still have to put the standards back to what they were previously (pre 2006), before they added timing requirements for some unknown reason.

I am just repeating what the men who qualified Wax have made in statements and pointing out the failure of the existing testing standards in the area of fairness.
