The average American Joe can't do physically what is required of firefighters.

And I knew tons of FF and LE that used roids.

I don't have a dog in the fight. I live in Detroit and our FD just let %$$# burn until it's out anyway. We can have fat men and women do that job easy enough I suppose.

I find it comical that people can make so many excuses to "pass" a female that fails the unfair standards while somehow ignoring the thousands of males that have failed the same standards.

All the intelligence in the world won't carry gear up 12 flights of stairs in a fire. All the good intentions in a persons heart will not carry another person down six flights of stairs in a fire.

Some jobs are physically demanding. These jobs cannot be done by the average "joe/jane" and should not be given to anyone because they "want to be one the team". Merit based occupations demand merit.

I have a serious suspicion that 100% of the people that want this woman passed are like me = they do not live in NY and will not have their lives in her unqualified hands.

That she is book smart? I don't think anyone would argue with you on that.

That she failed the physical requirement? Now you can parrot the women's groups that say it's unfair (not all animals are created equally after all it seems)

We are all entitled to our opinion, we are not entitled to our own facts.
