When I was a kid. The local gov. used to pay us money to catch as many firefly's as we could.

My Aunt would freeze them and then send them somewhere.

I think I made like 3 buck that summer. It was really cool.

I now wonder exactly what they were collecting those bug's for. Was there a poison in the air they were trying to determine.

I lived around an World largest Airport.

I remember reading something years ago where they discovered they could detect bacteria using the glow parts of fireflies. Whether or not that's true, I don't know.

Sorry I miss read your post.

I do know that DuPont started the GlowStix. I used to play with them before they became something the public knew about.

I use glowstix for fishing now, but they are a better product.

I had no idea that they made those. I can see how they would be handy catching fish, especially at night. Hmm I have to try that. Thanks.

No kidding. My friend shot a deer last year and had a cut on his finger so he couldn't gut it. So, there I was with my arm in the deer up to my shoulder pulling out the guts. Not too bad. I've done worse.

Oh...my...God

I tried chocolate covered ants, unless I was lied to. I was a kid then. It's the only way I would eat a bug. EEEEW, the gross things we talk about sometimes. LOL

Oh...my...God

What? It tasted good. The deer meat, not the guts. I didn't eat the guts. Come to think of it though next time I might save the heart and liver. Tasty.

You'd love Scotland kat - We've almost always got lots of weird and wonderful cloud formations.
I remember taking a photo of a blue sky here, because it was so rare for us to have a completely blue sky!
The photo was.... uhm.... just a pale blue rectangle!!!!!! ROFL
I even uploaded it to FB!!!! Scottish people understood, but everyone else was like... "Why's he posted that blue square???" LOL
BigG

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Wow. It looks like I'm the first one in the shed today. That's new. Did everyone party too hard last night? Is it the end of the world? Oh, coffee and donuts are in the kitchen.

Hello skid! Ok I'm looping back on an older conversation. My brothers are deer hunters. There is something that they do for the taste of the meat. They hang the deer from it's legs for 24 hrs. Luckily they live in the country. The first time I pulled up in a driveway and saw that I almost died!!!! But they say it makes all the difference (and they make the BEST deer steak or jerky you've ever had!)

Gordi - those pictures are beautiful! !!

Did someone say beach????

Hello you beautiful people!

Gordi, those pics are breath taking!

I think my get up and go got up and left. No energy to do much of anything.

My friend does that, too. You can't beat deer jerky. It doesn't last long here.

I know the feeling. It's gloomy and rainy here. It doesn't help that it's cold again.
