Actually, the State of Wisconsin started this Turkey program to benefit the people of the state. They are having these free hunting classes to get folks to get into hunting for their families.

I have to figure out a way to show you all pictures. I can't post real pictures here.

Maybe I can talk to Gordi about that.

....Ok, I have to figure out what to make for dinner. I'm thinking pasta.

Just so you know

Oh NO!
I hope you've also familiarised yourself with the local laws pertaining to the ethical treatment of wild pasta?
They are quite rare in some States and must be protected.
The dried ones, usually imported from Italy, are ok to use as they are still relatively common there, but they don't taste as good as the freshly caught wild ones.

You also need to be careful if you're contemplating using a stuffed pasta.
Some unscrupulous producers are stuffing the pastas before they have been humanely dispatched.
It's simply unethical and horrible beyond belief. Those poor little creatures, so much suffering.

It's the same thing with the wild haggis, here in my native Scotland.
They've been hunted to the point of extinction in some areas. It's very sad.

Anyway - Enjoy your pasta, I had some tonight as well! LOL

Yea. It really was funny. It was only a BB gun. I doubt I would have hit any of them.

I have never hunted before. So this is all new to me. I am not afraid. If you have the opportunity to hunt your own food. Why Not.

This year I am starting Tomato's, Cucumbers, Chive's, Basil and I want to try peanuts. They say you can grow them up here, but I have heard that it's more work than it's worth. So we'll see about that. I haven't even ordered them. You can only get them from Burpee. As far as I know.

I also have seeds for peppers. Bell, and I got a hot pepper too. I can't remember the name. I will go down and look later.

I love to buy herb plants! The new Land Lady will be planting flowers and what-not. I have flowers out in the yard that I planted last year.

If I had the opportunity to hunt my own food, why not? OMG! I'd be crying my eyes out because I killed something. LOL If I were out somewhere trying to survive and had no other choice, I would, but plucking and gutting and cutting it up, I'd be so sick I'd barf. LOL

Kittie that sounds so interesting. I hope they give you a course in cleaning them. That would be the only reason I wouldn't hunt foul. I am not particularly fond of the smell in the de-feathering process. I can gut and skin a dear but if you can handle a bird you have "more guts" than me.
Do you plan on bow or gun?

Planting in your zone is a challenge, I wish you good luck.
Thanks for the bacon and donuts, it is a great evening snack.

I got a virus a nasty one. A virtual one.
So I started seeing these adds for "unmentionable things" on ATS, made a little complaint and received a kind and informative answer that all the adds are generated from my own search engine that could be infected by a malicious virus since it is showing me things I wouldn't dream of searching for.
Jeez.

I hope you all are well and comfy where ever you are.

I don't know. I haven't done it yet. But I do know it is stinky.

I have an aunt that has the best tasting Chicken I have ever had.

She has this "Clothes Line" running from here house to a barn.

She raise's Chickens, sheep, and rabbits. That's where I have gotten all my kid's pets through the years.

That "Clothes Line" has more uses than just hanging clothes.

People buy here product. She is an organic seller. She works with the State she lives in to provide fresh food for schools in her area.

She is a very smart lady. Nurse, Biologist, Farmer.

No kidding. My friend shot a deer last year and had a cut on his finger so he couldn't gut it. So, there I was with my arm in the deer up to my shoulder pulling out the guts. Not too bad. I've done worse.

What's your favorite?

I've eaten live bugs. Ants are okay. Beetles are decent. Lightning bugs are awful. Oh, they make your teeth glow and it's neat looking but they are beyond bitter. Another thing is with bugs of any kind is if they're alive they try crawling back up your throat, which tickles.

I like the Larvets and crickets from Hotlix They're tasty and won't try to climb back up because they're dead lol.
