Cody, when I was young, I always wondered what the future could possibly have that I didn't have already. Hell, when I was a kid, we had to get up and change the television stations, we didn't have remote controls. We didn't have cell phones. We had phone booths everywhere outside if we needed to call someone. I had a record player and records. Then there were 8 tracks, then cassets, then CD's. Of course the price went up higher and higher with each change.

I was the remote control

We lived in Malta when I was a kid, and dad told us TV only started at 6pm, the reason our 12 inch colour t.v. only showed black and white was because the colour bled out on the way from England.

Completely believed him LMAO

Outside was so much better anyway, we had bomb shelter that we broke into as a den, and spent our afternoons in the sea hunting octopus, (which mum cooked) the trick was to cut off the legs and slap them on my sisters back as she tried to look cool in front of the new recruits.

Little brother syndrome

Man I was, and indeed am, so blessed with a full life and memories that make me laugh to this day, all I ask is that my kids have the same laughter without the trauma, but then maybe the trauma makes the the laughter that much sweeter ?

And yet we still don't have flying cars, colonies on other planets, and we dress like we did in the 20th century. Oh well. A lot of stuff we have no would have been sci-fi back then.

Having lived most of my life so far in the 20th century I am happy to say I don't dress now like I did then. LOL

Gordi, you're looking good!!!! Glad to see the bulging eyes are back to normal. Great avatar!!

Cool vids Cody!

Tom, do you remember the bell bottom pants and platform shoes? LOL

Skid, I would be terrified of getting in a plane, never mind a rocket ship to get into outer space! I'd love the view out the windows of a spaceship though!

Oh yeah I had those. I could change pants without uniting my shoes. lol
I didn't wear platform shoes though. I was from the hippie era. I think I had "earth shoes".
The heel was in the front to supposedly make your footstep more natural.
It was like you were always walking uphill.
Occasionally back then I'd get what I thought was a bad hair cut (Too short) or wear unhip clothes and then have my picture taken.
Well now those pictures are the only ones I can look at from back then where I don't look like a fool.

It's still a long way off from Buck Rogers and Star Trek. I'd rather dress the way I do now lol.

Okay, maybe I should have said that they're not as wide spread lol. Still, we don't use jet packs in daily life to get around. Or, if you're a Ray Bradbury fan, not everyone owns a helicopter to travel.

This picture is from about a half hour ago before Dad took his turn sitting on the eggs.
You can see the hole where the eaglet is breaking out.

You would have to ask them. I suggest using a Ouija board, as they're dead.

Hey guys and gals, when we catch this wicked witch in the forest, can I have her first. I need her to resurrect some folks while I question them. Thanks.

Not the best sorry but in the red circle is the first hatched eaglet.
Next one will hatch in two days. the third two days after that.

Tom - Love the Eagle cam!!! We actually have a pair of Eagles in Falls Mills this year. They are beautiful!!!

You guys are cracking me up with the Bell Bottom comments!!

OK, History Lesson time

Virginia is named after the virgin queen.

The state of Virginia was named after England's Queen Elizabeth I. In the early 1600's, all of North America that was not Spanish or French was then called "Virginia" in honor of "The Virgin Queen," and the earliest English colonial expeditions were sent by the Virginia Company of London.

North Carolina is heart of tobacco country. There is some grown in VA & KY but NC takes that prize.

Hope everyone has a great Monday (is that possible?)

Well that's cool. Did you know that there are actually people who think West Virginia is western Virginia? I'm not talking about non-Americans. I mean Americans that think that. I guess they never took geography. Maybe they weren't interested in circles, squares, triangles, and such.

Skid it makes me so mad when people think I am in the Western part of Virginia. LOL So where are you? What are the odds of 3 of the Sheddiates being from WV? West Virginia rocks!!!! LOL I'm in southern WV, Athens.

Pheonix, who are you resurrecting?

Martin, back in the day, bell bottoms were cool. LOL

OMG, Tom, a baby eagle being fed! I couldn't stop watching!

Skid, I never did like geography. As a kid in school, I don't know how I managed to pass that class. LOL I hated math too. I was into English, art, drama and music classes.
