New Concept... ATS Clans

No doubt it would improve the quality of posts.

Sounds interesting, not quite sure if I completely understand it though? Maybe a better description/example for us lower mentality folks-like myself would help..

Seriously, don't think I dislike the idea, I think its great. I'm just a loner, but in groups you'll see me up front.

And even if I'm not completely following you..I'm going to have to be different here and say that it sounds 'neat' but there are soooo many changes to the board here lately, that I just think it should be slowed for a bit before making any more..It's getting a bit overwhelming and even somewhat nerving to come here every day and see yet another change(even if they are for the better) too many changes too close together can become sour. I think you are doing a fantastic job William And have liked everything you've thought of, but maybe if we just kinda settle in with these new things first before trying 'yet' something else? Not that my one reply is going to make a difference, but it's just a thought..

...can see where Magestica is coming from...and kinda agree...too many changes too soon can make things a little unsettling, even confusing at times.

I'm ALL for the improvement of ATS...and you ar doing a great job...just like Mags says, too much too soon can become sour...

...I mean heck, I'm still figuring out how to upload images into the ATS Upload Manager...think I uploaded a pic from my webcam...was kinda undressed at the time...

I think that we can form better ideas than that.

Why not be one big nexus of thought, instead of several. Doesn't ATS have direction???

Don't worry... it might take a few weeks to get this programmed. I need to determine if it's worth doing or not.

Just like the Weblog concept and ATS chess, it'll be a long-term project... the upload area and other improvements were quickies.

Keep in mind...

The idea of "Clans" on ATS is not to create collections of people that pit themselves against the other all the time, but to create groups of like-minded people. For example, a clan devoted to Politcal Scandals would spend time researching and writing group articles on the topic... and hence, and comment on the forums form this clan about political scandals would carry greater importance... because it's from those who are making an effort to be experts.

It's a way for all of us to learn more... and have fun doing it.

Alrighty then, since I'm all about some of that..then guess it couldn't hurt. Atleast to try it out, and if it doesn't work out well..then...back to the drawing board you go

Sounds good William, very cool idea you got here. How would we keep track of the clan members? Would there be like a sperate "clan page". When can this come into affect?
