Alright... here's the idea... bear with me...
ATS Clans.
Somehow, we pick a few leaders of Clans on ATS. Each clan would be focused on a theme (NWO, aliens, secret groups, etc.), and have a flag, graphic
identity, etc.
Members who wish to join the clans concept will go into a pool. At some pre-defined point, Clan leaders pick their members in a rotation draft-style
selection.
After selection, clan leaders can invite new one new member each week.
What's the point?
Well, clans compete for points.
Your clan's total "karma" is calculated by the total posts of clan members. Also, forum staff can remove karma points (just like warning or
applauding) if we see posts that are just karma spams.
Your clan's prestige would also be also based on members receive applause from staff. And how many of your members have been voted for the Way Above
award.
As ATS evolves, we'll have ways for senior members to contribute to site content (not just forums). Traffic to your clan's content will be tracked
and also factor into your Karma... so the better your content, the better your karma.
Clans may also ending up competing in debates and collaborative fiction for bonus points.
There are dozens of other ways this may work... what do you all think?
