It should be mentioned that Coup's in Russia aren't exactly out of the ordinary either.

With troop movement, and all the rest, it looks like a coup. The problem being, in the Presidents satchel are the launch codes, which must be with him at all times. failing this, the second in charge will have them, Medvedev. If the Hawks have taken over they are probably stuffed, as they haven't got the pin nos. Torturing might not work, as they go to launch, nothing happens. I'm literally counting down the hours of this day (Monday, March 16th) in the hopes of finally hearing something about Putin, as he was supposedly going to 'show up' today.

Other than that, I like how the ATS community went through like 100 'rumors/confirmations' from 'well-informed sources' within just this thread already.

Well, defenseless in the scenario of a nuclear war. The only person threatening nuclear war at this moment in time is Russia so not exactly defenseless.

On topic...id rule out any kind of big preparations just cause if you were going to do an attack or something why would you draw all the attention to yourself first then do it. Its not tactically sound. I really think we will see nothing more than some illness...or bad gas...bad gas will get ya.

No, I don't believe that it has been confirmed. I was just making the claim that I don't believe that any country would remove their flag as they're going to war. Which means even if it was removed, it's more likely a coup and not a symbol of war.

They probably had all of those bleachers and stage with podium in the trucks, with the crane for setting them up and stacking the trailers on top of each other out of the way.

So, that is just another rumor. There is so much info out there that hasn't been confirmed....it's hard to keep up.

You're right though, no country going to war would remove their flag.
